    Epcot question

I believe you can still refuse to use the biometric finger scanner and instead opt to show a photo ID as long as your name is on the ticket you're trying to use. Disney won't advertise this but I'm pretty sure they will allow it in lieu of scanning your finger. Can anyone confirm this?

Free Wireless Internet Pilot at Disney’s Contemporary Resort

From what I read earlier in the thread, it seems like just the public areas (lobby, pool, Wave, etc) will have WiFi while the other Internet Access option will be a wired connection in your room. Plus I could predict guests would take the monorail or walk over to the Contemporary and bag the...

    Dress code violation PIC-OF-THE-DAY

10 is the age limit I believe. Since that's the age the ticket prices go up and they become "adults" at WDW.

Evaced last night on Splash Mountain

I got evac'd from Splash Mountain back in early July of this year. This was before the section right before the big lift hill to the big drop. I could tell something was up because the conveyor for the lift hill before the big lift had our log stuck for a bit longer than it was supposed to, then...

I successfully stoped a group of line cutters!!!

Right. Luckily the GACs are limited to only 6 people - plus I couldn't tell you the last time I saw them out and about in the parks. Plus it wouldn't add that much time to your wait anyway. And like FP, it's Disney-sanctioned and it's only in place to accommodate those who need it. Nothing like...

I successfully stoped a group of line cutters!!!

Not necessarily. A Guest Assistance Pass exists where the guest needing assistance and their party can bypass an entire line - usually it acts as a FastPass that is good for any ride, any day, and any time of the day. It really depends on the unique situation for each guest and what guest...

I successfully stoped a group of line cutters!!!

If memory serves me, I believe the total number of people, including the guest with disabilities, that can use the GAC/GAP is limited to 6. There are also different kinds of GACs/GAPs - some allow you to bypass the line altogether, while some make the group wait the same amount of time that a...

Typhoon Lagoon Crush n Gusher ?

This has been since Summer of 2008 I believe: Crush 'n' Gusher consists of three separate slides: Coconut Crusher, Pineapple Plunger, and Banana Blaster. Banana Blaster does have tighter turns, which is originally why we did not allow three riders on Banana Blaster. Before Summer of 2008 we...

    Writer's Stop in Hollywood Studios

It's just to the left of the entrance to Sci-Fi Dine-in restaurant - and near the Streets of America. (Hope I got those names right)

    Typhoon Lagoon

Well seeing as Typhoon Lagoon officially reopens from its annual refurbishment tomorrow (Jan 11th 2010) I'll report back tomorrow to let you know if anything's changed/added. I know the Shark Reef is temporarily closed as the engineers make sure the water is safe for the sharks. That's about all...

    To all Disney travel Experts!!!

I believe the youngest you can be is 16 with a parent/guardian's permission & signature. There's also a weight requirement - 100 lbs is the minimum I believe.

    Damage repair status?

Teal was out on the beams earlier today (Nov 11th) - I saw it circle the Resort beam a couple of times.

    Typhoon Lagoon is closed today

The latest advisory on WDWMagic's home page is accurate - it's due to technical difficulties - and that's all I'm really allowed to say. Expected reopening is Sunday, January 10, 2010. I got pulled to Blizzard an hour into my shift and heard that yesterday's closing was for the same reason. TL...

    Monorail Accident

That thought crossed my mind too, but after reading the entire post in-depth, even if a MAPO override was in effect, the pilot would have had to keep the override switch pressed. If they let go of the override button, MAPO would kick in and apply the emergency brakes. If the driver were to fall...

    Monorail Accident

This is just my limited knowledge, BUT, as is obvious from the thread, trains are able to drive forwards and in reverse. When switched to reverse, the trains "should" start sensing the MAPO/MBS signals in that direction. If Pink was moving in reverse, Purple should have been blocking the signals...

    Monorail Accident

Someone I know who works at Adventureland/Jungle Cruise has said that there is no monorail service to Magic Kingdom ... and from previous posts I can only assume that the Epcot beam is down too. But I myself don't know for sure. I would imagine they'd have the whole system shut down just in case...

    Monorail Accident

As far as I know (which isn't very far) there is a MBS/MAPO override. As mentioned earlier, the MBS/MAPO system is a computerized "moving blocklight system". The way it works is that signals are present along the track, probably sent through the same lines that the electricity for the monorails...

    typhoon lagoon soundtrack

If anyone's still looking for TL music I did a quick search and came up with this thread, which has most of the songs on the main soundtrack: http://www.thedibb.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=124803 There are still a few missing, mostly instrumental ones. If anyone can help with completing...
