    Losing a Disney loved one

What an AWESOME idea!!! I LOVE that!!! Thank you, and thank all of you for your thoughts. This has been hard, and I just didn't know if I could go back without her. But we're focusing on the kids and want them to go to a place she loved. Thank you!

    Disney Gift Card Question/Concern

I was the "go to" person for vacations, too!! I loved going on vacation to WDW and "researched" and "planned" all our trips. So if there was a question that came into the store, they were sent to me!!

    Losing a Disney loved one

My sister, who was 33, with 3 young children, died last month after complications from the flu. She was a Disney junkie like me. We had a trip already planned for this December, but while she was in the hospital, we postponed the trip til next year in May (doctors said if she made it, it would...

Planning trip for family friend for October 2010, please help!!

Ya GOTTA do Hoop Dee Doo!!! I didn't think my 16 year old son would get into it, but he LOVED it and insisted we do it again this year. It's great for any age. We start off with Chef Mickey's. SciFi is fun, as well as T-Rex(some don't like it, but we did). Didn't care for Cinderella's...

What to do with someone in a wheelchair?

We've never had to stand in a line very long with my dad (as my sister stated earlier). Only once have we ever been split up (party of 7) and that was on Peter Pan. We also only go in "off season", especially when it's cooler as dad can't handle the heat/stress. (ironic for a former fireman)...

    Pack's in WDW

I have worn one, but I try to hide it by layering my shirts. I'll put on a tank top, then the pack, then a looser woven shirt over it. (don't need to bring attention to my backside!!!) This year, I found a cross body bag that I like so I'm going to try that. But the convenience of a ...

    Castle Not on dining plan??

We agree. My family are not "fancy" eaters. There was very little there they would eat. The food was not good in my opinion. The atmosphere however was great, and the kids really enjoyed meeting Cinderella and the mice & Fairy Godmother. We are going to try the breakfast this year, to give...

Where Do You Eat Night 1 in WDW?

We ALWAYS do Chef Mickey's on our arrival night. It's just a nice way to meet the main characters right off, and then we don't have to stand in lines to meet them in the parks.

DHS Villains in Vogue Store sadly on it's way out...

Man, I HATE to hear that. I am ALL about the villains!! I buy nothing but Villains stuff when I'm in the World. At Halloween, I'm usually a villain - Maleficent, Cruella, etc. I could spend a FORTUNE in a villains store!!!

    October vs. May... Any thoughts?

October - hands down!! We've been both months. We went the 2nd week of May and it was nice, but was HOT! October had much more pleasant weather. As for special things, May had the flower festival, and October had the fall/halloween theme. October had less crowds.

Sci-Fi Dine in Theater vs 50s Cafe

Go for SciFi. We've been to both several times. The atmosphere at SciFi is so much better. At 50's, the first time we had a great server. He & I yelled at each other the whole meal. It was very fun. Last year, we had a so-so waitress. She wasn't as "into it" as some of the others...

How early do you start planning/booking?

Start????? I never STOP!!!! I always have a Disney trip in the works. We used to go every other year, but since we bought into DVC, we're going every year. I always have a Disney trip journal for plans, etc. On every Disney trip, I buy up journals, calendars, etc., just for planning...

    Wheelchairs at WDW

My dad must be in a wheelchair when we go. The conveyors throw him for a loop. He gets slightly dizzy & lightheaded transferring from the chair to the conveyor, but my sister & hold on to him & he does ok. We've not had conveyors stopped for him. Your mom should be ok on this, though. Just...

An unforgettable trip...not in the good way.

In 2006, we took my sister and her 2 boys. They were both AWFUL. The oldest one had attitude of the worst kind (he was 8). The brother (age 7) would cry for anything - he cried and screamed for the ENTIRE ride of It's a Small World because he didn't get the seat he wanted (we were in the boat...

    Gift card deal on Disney.com

I was told when I called to ask the same thing that if it was a Disney-owned shop or restaurant - yes they took the gift card. If it was NOT Disney-owned (like T-Rex or Rainforest Cafe), they do NOT take the gift card. Does that help?

    Mother's Day Weekend 2010

We were at Animal Kingdom on Mother's Day last year. Crowds were manageable. As we were waiting for them to open the gates, CMs walked around handing out carnations to mothers. It was a nice little perk, and me being me, I wanted that little keepsake, so I had to keep up with it all day. I...
