Does anyone know if the gift card can be used to purchase meals and/or snacks in the parks and hotels? The info given is a little vague. Thanks

It was my understanding that the gift card can be used just like any other Disney gift card, so you should be able to use it anywhere for anything that gift cards are accepted.

I was told when I called to ask the same thing that if it was a Disney-owned shop or restaurant - yes they took the gift card. If it was NOT Disney-owned (like T-Rex or Rainforest Cafe), they do NOT take the gift card. Does that help?

This is a very good question, I am buying one each payday (X amount on each card) to have when we arrive next trip. I plan to give a couple as gifts, use as food and other souvenirs so not to have to take as much cash..and NOT to have to use my credit cards as much!

Are you buying additional cards each payday? If you live near a Disney Store, they can add money to existing cards for you without having to buy additional ones. Each gift card can be recharged up to $1500.

I typically buy a card online through disneygiftcard.com or Disneyland's website (they sometimes have designs the other page doesn't), and then stop by the local store to add money to it little by little.

Make sure to save your receipts, make a photo-copy of the backs of the gift cards, and store the copies and the receipts in a separate place. If you were to lose them, or they got damaged somehow, you could get replacements.
