    Lap pools

The two pools located in the Magnolia Bend at Port Orleans Riverside could be used for laps. I have found them uncrowded for trips in March and December.

    Travel Agents

I just posted this under another tread, but fits here as well. I’ve had great success in working with an agent from Small World Vacations. They are Disney experts and I believe they only do Disney trips. The agent will find you the best current price and then monitor your reservation for...

    Tips for Cheap Trips?

I’ve had great success in working with an agent from Small World Vacations. They are Disney experts and I believe they only do Disney trips. The agent will find you the best current price and then monitor your reservation for offers that may become available that saves you $$$$...

    Xmas must do and don'ts

Overnight I thought of another hidden Xmas gem. If you have a car, the “Now Snowing Nightly” in the town of Celebration is worth a look-c. Main street is closed off and covered in snow (fake white substance). Each showing has snow falling from above and carols. There’s a Christmas train to...

    Xmas must do and don'ts

Here are some of my favorites at Xmas. The Osborne Family Christmas Lights at HS is a must see no brainer, the RV decorations over at Fort Wilderness Campground are a hidden gem, Beach Club Resort life-size gingerbread carousel, Yacht Club Resort model village, Grand Floridian Resort...

    Riverside Question

Riverside has become my go to resort, for all the reasons listed by Mr_Incredible. I’d give a double + to the food court, boat transportation to/from DTD, pools in Magnolia Bend and the scenery. I’ve always stayed in a Std View and 90% of the time assigned a room in Magnolia Terrace. It’s a...

    Best shortcuts in Disney World

If you arrive at AK early in the morning and there’s a large crowed at the ticket entrance, try this. Go into the Rainforest Café, on the right you’ll see a gift shop, walk through the shop and out the back. You’ll find a ticket entrance that usually has few if any guests in line.

    What's your favorite at MK?

I know it’s silly, but I always visit the Tri-Circle D Ranch (home of the draft horses used on property) located over at the campground. It’s my off the map spot that’s a must each trip.

    Other than the World...

My WDW trips have evolved over the years. I typically arrive in Florida a week or two prior to my Disney reservation. I like to visit the town of Celebration, Kennedy Space Center on the east coast, Tampa Bay Downs (horse racing) on the west coast, Tampa Bay football games in the...

    GRRR!!! Frustrated and need help!!!

I found a "terrific" agent through Small World Vacations. I too was frustrated with other services and often felt I knew more than the person I was talking to.

Need some advice for outside the parks!

You didn’t state when you were going. If it’s during December, The RV’ers at Fort Wilderness Campgrounds put-up awesome Xmas displays (visit after dark). In March, the Atlanta Braves play their Spring Training games at Disney’s Wide World of Sports. If you have a vehicle, a drive over to the...

    3 night trip in December

If you’re looking for something other than the Parks to do, visit Fort Wilderness Campground after dark. The RV’ers put out some great Xmas decorations.

What are my chances of room only discount?

If you're a AAA member, there's usually a 10% discount on room only reservations year round.

    What's improved at WDW?

You’re right! Basin and maybe RainForest, although there’s one at AK. I do miss the Deli/Grocery store that was housed were Earl of Sandwich is today. But that’s more nostalgia than items I shopped for, and the Earl is a great addition!!!! A trip isn’t complete for me without a sandwich or two...

    What's improved at WDW?

I’m not onboard with today’s DTD “Market Place”. The old Disney Village had a variety of merchandise, even non Disney items. With the One-Disney approach the merchandise found at DTD “Market Place” is found at MK, EPCOT, HS, AK, Resort Gift Shop, ESPN ……… Very little difference found from one...

    What's improved at WDW?

I agree that the Magical Express was a great addition. I'd add Fast Passes and Extended Hours to the list.

Your First Day When you Arrive at your Resort!

I too fly from California (San Francisco). I take a red-eye flight and from my front door (5pm pacific) to MCO (8:30am eastern (5:30am pacific)) takes around 12 hours. There’s an hour and a half drive to the airport, one/two hours at the airport, an hour layover in Atlanta. While I wait for...

    2013 Online Reservations

Just read from the Disney site that 2013 online reservations will be available July 11. I’m assuming room and package rates will be published on various Disney related sites around the same time. Sorry! I see this info has been posted in other threads.
