What other non-Disney locations do you like to vacate to? Or do you only take trips to WDW or DL? We love our beach trips too and are only a 5 hour drive from the Gulf of Mexico. On our trips to WDW it seems more of a go, go, go type trip and the beach is more laid back, chill out and relax trip.

You can do both! Disney for a few days then go over to the Space Coast. There are some nice beaches, and some of the best surfing is in Cocoa Beach just an hour east of Disney. Take surf lessons at BB/TL and then give it a shot at a real beach! If you want to get out and do something while staying at the beach, you have Kennedy Space Center and related attractions too. Another thought, what about a Disney Cruise? I haven't done one yet, but maybe you can combine laid back and Disney that way?

I grew up on the beach, so that is usually the LAST place I want to go when on vacation.....................of course my wife LOVES the beach so we HAVE to go once a year (read: I have to put up with it once a year). I don't normally have specific destinations for vacation (other than Disney World). I just like to go somewhere I have never been, or do something I have never done. We go to Disney World every year because it is the only place my wife and I can agree on.

I like to take cruises not Disney yet, or just go to an Island for a week. I also like the Outerbanks as well.

We did a Disney cruise last year...loved it!

It's just Disney! Every now and then we'll take a weekend trip to the mountains or Myrtle Beach, but we never take full vacations unless it's Disney.

We take a 10 day vacation to the beachhouse in Tampa each year. It is my husbands favorite vacation he loves to just soak up the sun. I don't complain because he does take at least 1 day to drive over do Downtown Disney. This year we did Typhoon Lagoon and DTD afterwards.

We also do our 2 Disney vacations. A 6 day in the spring and a 8 day in the fall. To me these ae the REAL vacations.

Like some others, when it isn't WDW it's a cruise. It's great to be free to do as much or as little as you want and to not have to worry about a thing. We usually cruise Royal Caribbean and my fiancee and I have a partial Panama Canal cruise booked for our honeymoon on Princess (however we are trying to figure out if we can get a few days in WDW for F&W before hand). We haven't cruise DCL yet because the prices are rediculous and they don't have casinos or cigar lounges.

I haven't been to WDW in almost 3 years now, been checking out other places in the mean time.

I have to say I'm a beach guy - Loved Puerto Rico and San Diego, also visited Texas and other states on the east coast. I went to Vegas for the first time this summer, and I think that will be a recurring trip too now :D

My family has planned a trip for August 2013 and I am excited as I've never gone this long without visiting the world.

We like the beach, St. Augustine, Savannah GA, Chattanooga TN, and the Smoky mountains. Most of our "vacation time"' is used up during the year with our daughters travel soccer team, so we try to save what we can for WDW. In between, we like our (GA) state parks, it's a nice, inexpensive way to enjoy a more laid back pace.

My WDW trips have evolved over the years. I typically arrive in Florida a week or two prior to my Disney reservation. I like to visit the town of Celebration, Kennedy Space Center on the east coast, Tampa Bay Downs (horse racing) on the west coast, Tampa Bay football games in the fall/winter, Baseball Spring Training, Silver Springs in Ocala. Always end the trip at Disney enjoying the resorts and parks.

We do Disney once of twice a year but will typically go somewhere else also. Myrtle Beech is a favorite and last year we did Branson and loved it. In fact we plan on going back next year. Two years ago we went to Mt Rushmore and Custer State Park. Rushmore is fabulous. And I finally got to see wild Bison. We have been to 44 of the States. Hope to get Oregon and Idaho in very soon while doing Yellowstone. So much to se in the great country!!

We do one Disney vacation a year and then we visit at least one other spot. In the past few years, we have visted the beach; St. Louis; Colonial Williamsburg/Busch Gardens (awesome park!); Hershey, PA; Dallas, TX; Ashville, NC and done many weekend and day trips throughout TN, KY, GA, and AL. This past month I did a trip to Montana/Wyoming and to Yellowstone. It was fabulous! I love Disney, but there are so many wonderful places that I want to visit and want my children to visit.

I just visited Yellowstone last month, and it was wonderful. We saw buffalo, elk, and even a grizzly bear. Just beautiful, beautiful country.

I'm a warm weather person so I normally do beach days. I've been to the space coast of Florida to Coco Beach many times since I have family near there and I'm going to the beaches on the West Coast next month. This year I did a weekend trip to the Jersey Shore which was interesting to say the least.

Another cruiser here! My husbands tends to think WDW is a little too much walking (wuss) so we usually will take a cruise in the spring and then WDW in September. He loves seeing the islands and I'm usually going for the ship. We tried Las Vegas a few years ago and had a good time but prefer cruises.
