Lap pools

Three of our children are year-round competitive swimmers who dislike missing practices. I’m wondering if there are pools within WDW that are designed for lap swimming.

I know the Dolphin has its own lap pool with a swim lane. Are there any others? Perhaps some of the quiet pools are designed for swimming laps?

Thanks!

I cant really think of any that you would really classify as lap pools. As you say, the Swan and Dolphin are the closest to that. Most of the quiet pools are quiet enough that you could swim properly in them, but very few have lanes, and most of the pools are always likely to have families playing in them.

Hey, this is great info. used to getting a mile or so in each week, maybe if I get up early enough and find a resort pool like this I can get some laps in!

The two pools located in the Magnolia Bend at Port Orleans Riverside could be used for laps. I have found them uncrowded for trips in March and December.
It's an interesting suggestion. I looked at them on Google maps. They don't seem to be square on one end. The kids need something so they can do flip turns at both ends and be long enough (ideally 25 yards) so they can swim between turns.

Would either of these pools work for that?

The best pool for actual swimming is at the Dolphin. The rest of the pools are really more for just hanging out in a pool, not really for swimming.

Every hotel has one big pool and if you get up at like 5:00 a.m. ...you are usually alone in it and can swim a bit. But the Dolphin is best.

At the Yacht and Beach Club, there is a pool that could work. Part of the main pool is a pool that is like a small lazy river. It is round with an island in the middle, deep (>6 ft), and has a slight current. They wouldn't be able to swim laps and practice turns, but swimming in circles against the current would be good resistance training. One warning on this one: you are only supposed to use the resort pool if you are staying the that resort. The Y&B Club is the only place I have ever seen this enforced, because it is the coolest pool on the property. You have to show them your room key to get a wrist band. If you don't have a wrist band, you will get kicked out of the pool.

I have swam (not laps) many times in the magnolia bend pool. I'm pretty positive that parts of the ends are squared off, but the pool is pretty shallow. I can touch through the whole thing, and I am 5 feet tall.
