    Disney In August Question

Pace yourself and stay hydrated. We took several trips at the end of August because we did not want to take our kids out of school. It is doable but it is hot and humid. The only relief is ducking into a store or the indoor attractions then it is back into the heat and unbearable humidity...

    World Showcase Destinations Discovered

I have never heard of this tour so I looked it up. This is what I found..... World Showcase DestiNations Discovered is a new walking tour now available at Epcot's World Showcase. Costing $109+tax per person, the five hour walking tour takes guests through the creation of the World Showcase...

A little disappointed in Disney concerning miliary room rates

I agree 100% with @rljackson ..... my daughter's ex-husband was military and we stayed at SOG for 7 days. It is a lovely hotel with it's own restaurants etc. The theming is not "Disney" but the rooms are very large and comfortable and again, it is a walk down the drive and across the street to...

Any shortcuts on how to get to the parks(Epcot or MK) from AKL?

I think that you will find that the bus waiting area at all of the deluxe resorts are covered with overhead fans and ample seating....maybe with the exception of the WL where I found the seating quite sparse. This never seemed fair to be since I have heard that the bus waiting area in the value...

Any shortcuts on how to get to the parks(Epcot or MK) from AKL?

As far as I know, the only way to get to the parks from the AKL is by bus....unless you have a car and then you can drive. I found the AKL the most inconvenient logistic wise of all the deluxe resorts. You have the choice of the monorail, boats and busses for the CR, the GF and the Poly. And...

    Disney While Pregnant??

My daughter was 14 weeks pregnant when she and my son in law invited us to go to Disney with them and our the 21 month old granddaughter last November. The weather was pleasant and about 75-80 with no humidity. She was quite comfortable even carrying her daughter in a sling at times. Now: I...

Who has been to Orlando in November

We were there in November 8-15, 2014. The weather was great!!!!! The average temp was about 75-80 with no humidity. There was only one day when it rained/sprinkled and it was cooler but we were in The AK and we just dodged the raindrop. I will never go in the summer again...November in my...

    Epcot/Food and Wine Help

I agree with the above advise. We were in Epcot on the last Saturday of the Food and Wine Festival in 2014 and it was an absolute zoo. I totally forgot about this when we made plans to visit the parks each day. We could not get out of The World Showcase fast enough. It was wall to wall...

100 degree days at Disney World.. avoid parks mid day?

I have always gone to Disney in the summer due to school schedules for the kids and me. Now that I am retired and I have been there in November with my granddaughter, I will never go in the summer again. When you leave the hotel in the morning in the summer, you begin to...

    Babies in Disney

And don't forget that it is very hot in Disney in September....I think it is the hottest and most mid time of the year. So a one year old will need light clothing, small and easy to pack. :cat:

Resort for single mother and infant

You did not say how old the "infant" will be when you visit Disney. If your child will be an "infant"....not toddling around, I would recommend the Contemporary Resort only for the convenience. You can take the monorail to the Magic Kingdom and to the other monorail resorts and enjoy the...

Am I Using DDP the best I can?

You will not be disappointed in the 2 signature dining experiences you have chosen. I have been to Disney 11 times and I have probably eaten at all of the signature restaurants and Jiko was by far my favorite. The food, the service and the ambiance was impeccable. Narccossee's is also...

First time with 2 and a half year old

Take your time! Don't plan so much that you cannot enjoy Disney though your daughters eyes. We brought my granddaughter in November....she was 21 months at the time. I thought for sure that she was too young but her parents wanted to bring her. She walked about 95% of the time so it was slow...

    Kona dining to La Nouba?

I think that your plan is doable but unless there is another way, the bus to DTD drops you off at the totally opposite end of DTD from La Nouba. We went to the 6PM show in November and then had dinner at Raglan Road. If I am not mistaken, there is a boat that can take you to that end of DTD...

    March 2016

Oh....and we stayed at The AK Lodge too.....The CR still gets my vote without hesitation. :cat:

    March 2016

In my opinion, you cannot beat the convenience of the CR. We have stayed at The CR (4X), The Poly, Shades of Green, The WL (2X), Port Orleans, and off site. I love love love the CR for all sorts of reasons and it sounds like you love it too. The Poly was very nice but I have not stayed there...

    Magical Express to the Polynesian

Sounds like a pretty stressful way to start a Magical Vacation. Even if you arrive on time, it will still take you a while to deplane and then there is a long walk to DME. You can probably get to DME by 8:45. If your bus is sitting here waiting and it leaves right away, you may be in luck...

    Bus question

If you stay at a monorail resort, of course you can hop the resort monorail...that connects the Contemporary, Polynesian and Grand Floridian. The Wilderness Lodge is connected to The Contemporary by boat and then you can hop the monorail for the other monorail resorts. The Boardwalk, Beach and...

    Kingdom Strollers

When I was in Disney in November, I watched as parents struggled to fold their strollers to get on the buses. Then I noticed one parent who was able to hold his child and close his stroller effortlessly and with one hand...it was a City Mini. I made a mental note of the brand so I could tell my...

    Unique Pin Code.

Don't think we will be using this pin since we were there is November and we leave on Wednesday for the West Palm Beach area to see family. Maybe we can take advantage of the next one! :cat:
