Info for travelers re: Frontier's bag restrictions

This is why I fly Southwest whenever I can, I know exactly what I will be paying. Plus, flying out of Islip in Long Island, instead of JFK or Laguardia, I can be from the parking lot to the gate in 10 minutes. I don't think you can cross the road from the parking lot at Laguardia to the...

    WDW with Teens

Taking my 13 and 11 year olds in 3 weeks, one thing that surprised me is my eldest went through the pictures from our first trip in 2008 and said she wants to recreate many of the pictures

WDW/Universal vacation split. How long in Uni?

I think 3 at Universal is good depending on the season. Last time I went, my office had a promotion where a 3-6 day pass cost the same as a 2-day pass. My kids are HP nuts, so we ate up a ton of time just on HP stuff.

What to do about a problem spouse

My ex hates Disney, and I should have taken that as a warning years ago. She went along with the whole first family trip when the kids were 6 and 4 but really got little enjoyment outside of seeing the kids having a ball. Now I take the kids to Disney, Universal, Cedar Point..., and she takes...

    Laptop Or Tablet?

I personally take my laptop solely so that I can offload my day's photos (DSLR, so no automatic cloud saving). Also it has the added benefit of being a USB charging hub

    What's the odds?

While getting ready for a president's week trip with the kids next month, I find out yesterday that I've been booked to a conference at the Yacht and Beach Club in May. Two trips in four months :)

To Drive or Fly, That is the Question.

For our last trip in 2010, we drove from Long Island to WDW in two days, stopping over in NC. Including gas, tolls, food and a hotel, it was a considerable savings vs. Christmas week flying. Leaving Long Island by 5am, we were able to avoid most of the crippling traffic bottlenecks from NY to...

    Value vs. Deluxe

It's all in one's preferences. If you're there to leave for the parks at 7:30 and get back after midnight each day, there's not much incremental value to a Moderate or Deluxe over a value. The past two trips we booked connecting rooms at the All-Stars so that the kids could sleep in their own...

Fondest WDW memory from your childhood

Back in the early 80's, characters would actually greet you as you were exiting the plane. I remember being so excited to see Chip and Dale that I knocked the poor cast member backwards. In terms of the Park, when I walked on Main Street for the first time. Before WDW, my experiences with...

    Awful guest behavior

There are morons everywhere: Last trip to WDW I saw what looked to be a perfectly fit adult kick an elderly woman in his party out of her wheelchair so that he could be pushed around. My last trip to Universal, a family let their son throw ketchup packets on the floor and start stomping on them.

    First time visitor budget advice?

Hopefully this is not unique to my local library, but they always have the most current Disney planning books from Unofficial, Frommers, Fodors and Birnbaums

    First time visitor budget advice?

Allears.net has a very current listing of the cost for all the restaurants and dining experiences. Regarding shopping, you need to set a reasonable budget and and stick to it. Use the Disney's store website as a guide for how much merchandise is currently running.

    Planning trip vs saving money

Any vacation can be had with proper planning. On my upcoming trip next month, I was able to knock $600 off by using new credit card rewards and promotions, then paying the cards off promptly. The Disney rewards card netted me $200 instantly, plus another $70 is Disney rewards after paying the...

    Single Rider lines

Universal was a godsend with its single-rider lines for most rides. Especially with older kids (12 and 10) we were able to easily set a meeting place and waits were 1/4 of the posted times
