What to do about a problem spouse

My ex hates Disney, and I should have taken that as a warning years ago. She went along with the whole first family trip when the kids were 6 and 4 but really got little enjoyment outside of seeing the kids having a ball. Now I take the kids to Disney, Universal, Cedar Point..., and she takes them to museums and national parks.

A guy I used to work for 15 years or so ago would go with his family and would golf all week while the wife and kiddies went to the park. They would meet up for dinner. He was happy, they were happy. Of course, if this wife doesn't have any interest in golf, then her husband is out of luck.

I mean...it's Orlando. The true vacation hub of the United States and world!!!

So, perhaps a comprise? Maybe "If you go with us to Disney World for two weeks, we'll give you a half day at Universal Studios or Sea World...". Make sure you *sigh and roll your eyes at these words for added dramatic effect to make it look like you aren't all too interested even though you've been dying to see "Harry Potter Land" for eternity.

I Know i've done trips where the folks I was going with did not really want to be there and it was definitely a drag on the entire day, complaining, bored looks, etc. Part of the reason I almost always travel alone now.

My DH hates Disney so we've compromised and I now go alone. We go on atleast one other vacation together a year and I've cut my Disney trips from week-10 days down to long weekends. So far its worked out pretty good, he is coming to Disneyland Paris with me in Sept for the half marathon, but again we compromised and I cut the trip short and added some days in Paris to do things he wants to do.

I don't know why I keep coming back here but I guess I just don't see why it's a huge problem. I don't love EVERYTHING that DH does.
He'd love to go to the Super Bowl. You'd have to pay me a huge amount of money to go. I'd love to go back to England and go see a ton of Edwardian Estates/Castles. He'd probably rather pluck out all his eyelashes.
