Disney’s Art of Animation Resort to create 1550 jobs

I would imagine that they're pretty much having to start over from scratch... even in the one or two buildings that have already been built, they've sat stagnant for so long that there's no telling what type of issues are having to be overcome.

    Disney, Universal win insurance waivers.....

"small fractions" are still a HUGE number. While it might not make the difference alone, it's just another line item in the red in the overall budget. Should they have better health care? Yes. But what good does it do if half or 2/3rds of their paycheck is being eaten up by the premium? You...

I saw that book at several locations around property, including even at MouseGear. You should be able to find it. :-)

    Disney, Universal win insurance waivers.....

Money has to come from somewhere. If it's not passed on to employees, it will come from other line items in the budget, such as upkeep, new attractions, or even hiring / maintaining current levels of staffing. With wages relatively low, they can either ask for a waiver and keep selling the...

Will Disney World be celebrating 40 years next year?

Based on the observance of park "milestone" anniversaries since Epcot's 25th, which was simply lightning in a bottle and can't really be compared to anything else (except its upcoming 30th :lookaroun )... AK 10: Special opening ceremony with Joe Rohde and Jane Goodall. History presentation...

FIRE - Reports of fire at Walt Disney World's Splash Mountain

Just spoke with onelittlespark, who's at MK today. She said that Splash Mountain had indeed been evac'd, but hadn't heard of a fire (granted she wasn't exactly privy to high-level info as she's just there as a guest). She said ride vehicles on the mountain started cycling again about 45-50...

    Would you use a wheelchair?

In the immortal words of the internet... haters gonna hate. Screw what anybody else thinks. If you need a wheelchair, use a wheelchair. They don't really get "special" treatment anymore anyway, so it's not like its a pass to cut the line like it used to be.

    Snow White 1939 World's Fair

Sweet find! I didn't know there was a display from Snow White at the 1939 fair... all I knew about was the Mickey's Surprise Party movie from the Nabisco pavilion. *trots off to do research* :D

    First solo trip, which tour?

They're really both equal in terms of quality (both are great), length, amount of time backstage, etc. I'd suggest you simply base it on which park you'd rather learn more about.

    Horseback riding and transporation

It should be doable, I'd think. For a bit of extra insurance, I'd suggest checking in at the restaurant 15 minutes early to minimize getting a late start; and taking a look at the menus online in advance of arriving, so you know exactly what you want the second your server shows up. Doesn't...

    Happy Anniversary

I don't think that's part of the regular spiel unless it was included generically ("whether you're celebrating a milestone birthday, the anniversary of a very special couple, or the fact that your tests came back negative, we're glad you're here..."). Sounds like there's a way they can trigger...

    Attendance During Night of Joy

Welcome to WDWMagic! In my experience, Night of Joy typically only affects the park in which it's held. I've been at WDW before during it, and didn't notice any major fluctuations... I just avoided MK on that night to avoid crowds.
