Sounds good. Let me know when you get an answer. Let me know how that class goes as well.
I was just thinking of professions that some of my fellow classmates got into after graduation. Just to run down a short list of possibilities here, I can say that the C.I.A. hires historians for analysts a lot. Local or national museums obviously. Historical preservation is another biggie. Let's see, what else? oh, libraries, archives, teaching, National Park Service, National Geographic, Time magazine, etc. There are a lot of possibilities, you just have to know someone.
Unfortunately, I am in restaurant management for the time being. I majored in philosophy in Grad. school and with those two subjects it is hard to find employment. They tell me that I am not qualified to teach history because I do not have a teaching license. I have also tried to look for jobs at The Library of Congress and the Smithsonian but they are tough to get into. I may write something and see where that leads.

Anyway, Constitutional law could be a way to go. Many history majors go on to law school. My advice would be to do as many internships as you can so that you can build contacts while still in school. This would be a great area to do something like that for obvious reasons. I remember feeling lucky while writing a few constitutional related papers because I simply went to the supreme court library to do research. You can't beat that kind of access. Have you applied to schools yet?

So my advice is network, network, and network.
Thanks Evan. History was my major and my passion. Living in the D.C. area is like being a kid in a candy shop. I have to say that your knowledge of U.S. history is quite impressive. BTW, happy new year.
Go look at the albums listed on my profile. I added some pictures of my room (with the new self) in a new album on there.
