  • This was years ago, before I got *really* into WDW, so I can't place all of the blame on them (perhaps I should have been a bit more assertive!) but hey, at least we made it on time!

I saw the Fantasmic change too and I am VERY happy about it. Unfortunately, they should have been doing this all along.

Early morning EMH? Good luck! It's....quite an experience! We'll stick to our evening EMH's. ;)

81 days will come and go before you know it. It seemed like just yesterday that we had 82 days left, and now we're at...60! :D Unfortunately, the start of our WDW vacation means that it's the effective end of summer. But ya gotta take the good with the bad.
well the two of us are having rough weeks then! LOL so if we stay the same or even gain a bit..we suck it up tomorrow night and remember wednesday is a NEW day! I HAVE to get on track. I HAVE to lose 25 pounds by the time we leave which means...OMG that dreaded word - EXERCISE! gotta do it! lol wish there was a public pool to go to 3 nights a week or something...erghhh -but have WW Tuesdays and now found a counselor for linds that starts Thursdays at 6 pm - hope linds likes her. Right now she doesn't think "she needs it" lol very angry because crappy boy called her best friend and told her to tell Linds...he has a new girlfriend (THANK FREAKING GOD! lol like he still had Linds..) anyways, she is all in a tizzy right now...help me! lol
For some strange reason, instead of taking the speedier monorail back to the MK to catch a boat, we took the ferry back. Needless to say, we got to the dock and there was no boat to Fort Wilderness in sight. So we waited around for a while, and eventually the boat came, but we were running very late. After a very tense boat ride, I sprinted to Pioneer Hall to claim our reservation, and if we came two minutes later, we wouldn't have made it in time. Needless to say, I became the de facto Disney guide afterwards, and it's been that way ever since.
We haven't seen Festival of the Lion King either (or have even been on that side of the park...) but we love the Lion King, so maybe we'll check it out. We got a chance to see it in Philadelphia and it was truly fantastic.

No pina coladas in the cantina? That's surprising! Well, they didn't even add a tequila bar into Mexico until just a few years ago...so I guess EPCOT is a bit behind in that sense. I don't drink myself, but supposedly the drink options around WDW have been homogenized a bit lately.

Funny story about a water taxi...one year I went with my extended family. We were heading off to the Hoop-de-doo in Fort Wilderness and were running a bit late. Someone in my family was under the impression that you could date a boat from the TTC to Fort Wilderness (despite my insistence that this was not possible). Anyway, we got to the TTC, only to find that there was no such boat.
ok i'm pep talked up now LOL got right back on track this morning...it's 130 and i have 12 points down right now so that leaves me 24 for the rest of the day...THAT is easy :) Thanks for the pep talk - I needed that. Sometimes I'm like DOH! LOL
CRAP can it get any hotter? Actually it's not even the heat today..it's the flipping humidity LOL Come on July - I'm ready for you (plus then we are 1 month closer to the World LMAO!)
yep smaller...we have grown so much so fast (and we are in a 88,000 SF facility!) that they need to put more cubes in so everyone is down sizing - whoopee lol it's ok. At least I have a job I love!

Fruit is yummy for dinner...we are having fruit parfaits for dessert but I was really bad today. I'm so ed I can't see straight. It's bad enough I'm going thru all this crap with my daughter (and she has been so distant - like can i even have more then 3 words with you? LOL) and then sandy throw...OH we are having company sunday. okkkk??? her freaking ex husband again..I'm like ? LOL he has blamed me for everything in their marriage for 20 years - whatever dude but i don't need the BS right now...so i had a kids chicken finger meal from BK..then I wanted something sweet so i got an apple fritter from Dunkin Donuts (OMG i'm so mad at myself now for doing this to myself! LOL)
Close! :) It's in Adventureland on the outside wall of the Tiki Room.

Sauces? Mmm...like chocolate sauce? I'm pretty sure the place to get the pina colada is called "Let's Go Slurpin". It's near the front of the wave pool.

I also agree on the Disney Transport point. It's so convenient and reliable (atleast in my experience) that it just is so relieving to not be driving all over the place. My favorite is the ferries/water taxis.
OH I feel so special - 3 conversations! LOL I'm GLAD he didn't give up..just a slow start I guess. That is good. Make him stay on track. And I loveee chinese food. I actually do moo goo gai pan with no msg. It's just chicken and veggies and then i eat white rice on the side...and the egg roll. Can't give up the egg roll but really pretty low cal...i'm sure it's the honey chicken that killed you LOL AND YES CCSB can go screw themselves....not sure why they even decided on a revote. And did you see what they proposed? I was like WTH!!! LOL what a bunch of idiots!

btw boss is ok. MAJOR vertigo "attack" along with blood pressure off the richter scale. He is out now and on vacation for a week. Moved into my new cube which is really a cubette it's so small but they'll all be my size in about 30 days...UGH!
Do they have donuts at TL too? If so, then I'll have to try some. I passed up the opportunity to get some at Blizzard Beach, though donuts never struck me as a water park kind of food.

Maybe you should start a movement for greater accountability among the school board....maybe get a few parents together and then ask for some time at a meeting to present how ridiculous it is or something like that. The more people are infuriated, the bigger chance you have for something to be changed.

Hmm...ten points if you can name where my avatar is from. ;) I haven't heard of Disney Vacation Connection, but I'll check it out now. Anything to get me more excited for my trip. :D

By the way, since you drive from GA to FL, do you use Disney Transportation or do you just park in your car in the theme park lots?
I agree completely. That's why I kind of feel that politics are a waste of time. There's so much arguing and bickering and in-fighting that by the time something actually IS done, it benefits no one or compromises so much that there is no change.

LOL I guess with the pesky husband out of the way you can do as much shopping as you want! I think our family might try Typhoon Lagoon again this year. We absolutely love it. I'm not a big water parks guy, but Typhoon Lagoon is just so much fun, and the theming is great, too. The food options looked interesting from pictures I just saw. I wonder if they still offer the virgin strawberry daquiri/pina colada mix....that was very tasty and relaxing whilst sitting next to the wave pool.

I think I'm doing the same thing you are. I go on the Picture of the Day threads once a day to get me even more excited. That and the DisneyFoodBlog helps quite a bit. ;)
and here is post #2 for tonight - did you know those idiots are revisiting the school calendar AGAIN for this coming year? Oh yeah...start 8/8 - the week OFF in sept. we are going...then a week off in october....a whole week of early releases right after that for conference week...it's a mess!
Already? Well then it doesn't seem he was just that into it I think...maybe he was attempting it because it made you happy? Not sure - just weird he's bowing out already LOL Do I need to come over there and knock him upside the head ha ha!

Oh I know about the food thing..we always have food it's just by the time a day or so before payday rolls around - it's last resorts which usually means tilapia or left overs LOL that's ok though we always have plenty to choose from albeit not what we want LMAO!

Isn't DQ expensive? I thought it was - I know you get the whole shebang for a set price but I thought that price was high....however if it keeps everyone happy - then yeah!

spent most of the day with my boss at the doctor/then hospital..long story - will tell you next tuesday. he is ok now...scared us tho!
That's precisely the reason why I take no stock in politicians. Republican or Democrat...they're all crooked to me. It seems that whenever action is taken, it's made in the interest of a select few, not the people. It kind of ruins the point of a democracy, I guess.

LOL I wish WDW commercials came on when I was watching TV (which is almost never now). All I do is keep visiting WDWMagic and looking at pictures and video and it's good enough for me. How much more excited for your trip are you now?

Making golf reservations sounds like a pain, but I'm glad that your husband is taking each of your sons. I'm sure they'll have a great time and your work getting the reservations will pay off. :D What are you planning on doing while they're golfing?
Don't get me wrong, I love the water, but the risks and cost associated with it makes it totally unattractive to me. I know that I always need to be in 15 minutes of a large body of water for personal reasons, but the folks who build those beachhouses 15 feet from the ocean seem crazy to me.

The law doesn't really have too many supporters. Though most people agree with the GDL restrictions (which are going to be instituted nationally soon, like restricted nighttime driving, how many people in a car, etc.), most parents don't want their kids putting the stickers on their cars, and rightfully so. They serve no purpose other than advertising the fact that a teenager is driving the vehicle. The odd thing is that there's no incentive for the state to keep it, since the little stickers are only $2 a pop, and 90% of folks don't even use them.

I sure hope that there were no parents like you mentioned. The vote is doing nothing but frustrating parents. School boards are crazy these days.
Hi there! See you tonight lol OH and sandwiches...I use the 100 calorie sandwich rounds..they are only 2 points each so he could have 2 sandwichs with say turkey for about 4-5 points each which seems like a lot more food then just 1 sandwich...load it up with lettuce and tomato (free points ) and yum! lol
Even though there have been numerous cases of stalking and girls being r-aped because of men following clearly-identifiable cars being driven by teenagers, and the fact that the law has a 90% noncompliance rate, AND the fact that police officers barely enforce the law, it is still on the books and isn't going away anytime soon. It's absolutely infuriating that the lives of teenagers are endangered every day by this law, especially since the stickers do NOTHING but label new drivers (i.e. teenagers). Sorry for the off-tangent, it's one of those few political things that just pushes my buttons. Anyway, I hope that the vote changes for you guys and the school board gets over themselves.
Yikes! I hope you guys didn't get too affected by that hurricane. Gulfport got walloped in Katrina...I have pictures from afterwards and its so sad to look at. They keep saying that NJ is 40 or so years overdue for a major hurricane...and we live around a half hour from the ocean, but only five minutes from the nearest large body of water. I'm not worried about coastal flooding, but I think if a hurricane ever did hit, the wind and rain would send us up the creek without a paddle. (At least we're not living out on the barrier islands...I cannot fathom why people will build so close to the beach...it's like they're challenging the ocean!

We're kind of having the same political situation in NJ. It's called Kyleigh's Law...some girl got killed by a drunk driver, so her parents pressed for legislation for stricter Graduated Driver's License requirements and laws. What ended up happening is that all new drivers have to have an orange sticker on their license plates.
Another one of our districts doesn't even get out until tomorrow...yikes!

That doesn't make any sense...shouldn't the majority get what they want? After all, it is a democracy, right? The needs of the majority shouldn't be overruled by a group of people who think they know better. [/political rant]

Hmm...I like those ideas! At the DAKL, one of the CMs at the cash register was talking to us about how she always buys these certain designer ceramic plates. We bought one of them for our mom and they are beautiful. They have all sorts of African designs and an animal featured in them. I'll try to post one later.

Do you live close to the coast in GA? Do you worry about hurricanes at all?
So maybe that IS where I have seen you! LOL We have to go either way every 90 days for Lindsay's 90 day med checks (she has ADHD) - so that could be it!

Great - i'm glad you had a wonderful dinner! those 6 oz were probably 7 points but I'm sure you saved up...potatos are low and salad is a freebie as far as i'm concerned...you will have lost (if you have been a good girl LOL) 3-5 pounds this first week..that is the norm and you probably already know so that good going! I just always have to remember...it's only the first week - not every week. It would be much easier if it was every week LOL

Yeah Lee!~ if he weights 250-275, then 40 should do it from the man calculator perspective ha ha ha! I just know what I weigh and I get 36 (right now) but the gals is different then the guys...either way 40 points is a LOT of food! LOL
LOL NJ nor'easters and snow storms can sometimes be a bit of a joke. Sometimes they're really serious and bad, but 75% of the time, it just rains twice or something.

Those towels sound cool! If we find a good one on our next trip, maybe we'll just ship them back to NJ instead of putting them in luggage. We've run into a few instances where our luggage has been too heavy (another reason why I hate air travel).

World Showcase seems like the kind of place that would have a lot of nice jewelery, but I don't really look out for jewelery as much. I hope on this trip that I find that one cool souvenir to take home. I haven't found it yet.

We dropped some family off at a baby shower yesterday, and while we were hanging out there, about a dozen old Italian ladies walked up to me and seemed to know who I am, even if I had no clue who they were! Time is moving on too fast. I can't believe another school year is over already! Our district just got out on Friday.
