Has there been anything announced about Splash going down for its annual refurb in January/February? Or with the Covid closure, or the I’ll-believe-it-when-it-happens retheme, did they take care of the annual items already?

At this point I would not expect the attraction to close for any extended period of time until they're ready to make the changes. Maybe January 2022?

On D23's list of things coming to the parks in 2021, the Splash Mountain makeover is not one of them.

I have little doubt they were “ready” to make the changes when they announced it. Now... I’ll believe it when I see it. Truly sounds like a PR move that Covid will allow to flounder and then be forgotten with little fanfare. I can only hope I’m right.

I've said it once and I'll say it again- I have no doubt they've been developing ideas over the years to axe Song of the South

Wouldn’t shock me for a second. If I had to guess, those ideas were probably dismissed for years and only got more than a cursory look after Chapek was installed as head of Parks and every penny spent was scrutinized. Splash = Higher Maintenance costs? Instant target.

Like I said, I also wouldn't be shocked if PATF was considered to take over Splash when the film originally came out

I mean, I still don’t see how it fits, but I wouldn’t be shocked by that either. As with DHS, better to build new than rip and replace to add capacity to a park that needs to spread people out more. But what do I know, I’m just a guy at home. 😁

I can get behind California getting PatF. Its Orlando and Tokyo most people aren't cool with

I also think that Disney may have been depending on controversy surrounding the attraction to get a little buzz before they let any potential replacement ideas get off the drawing board. Without any notable external pressure preceding such an announcement, the absolute shell shock from the fandom may have been unmanageable. I can’t even begin to imagine how something like this would’ve gone over if it was suddenly revealed out of nowhere at the D23 Expo.

Personally, I can only get behind California in the sense of it potentially being a sacrificial lamb to take the heat off of Orlando and possibly Tokyo. Despite its proximity to NOS, I still don’t think a PATF ride geographically makes sense inside of a hilly and cavernous structure nor feel that it should have a height requirement.

Thats partially why I can handle California retheming. The other reason its considerably easier to connect Critter and NOS than plug New Orleans into Frontierland.

So there going ahead with this retheme but legitimately are "boarding up" the tron construction site? So for the optimistic crowd...your going to tell me alot of effort and theming will go into this?

Question is, what happens to the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh?

Hopefully, Pooh will get a new home in Fantasyland at some point assuming that’s what happens.
And hopefully, whatever happens to Disneyland's Pooh won't affect the Magic Kingdom's. Then again, the Magic Kingdom's Pooh is more popular than Disneyland's, but since when has an attraction being popular stopped Disney from replacing it?

Then again (again), it wouldn't make sense to have a Tiana restaurant in our Fantasyland when there's a Tiana ride in Frontierland. So I suppose that even if Disneyland's Pooh gets replaced by Tiana's Place (or is it Tiana's Palace?), the chances of them replacing the Magic Kingdom's Pooh with Tiana's Place is pretty small. Plus, the Magic Kingdom needs more capacity as is.

Actually, y'know what they should do? Spare both Splash Mountains and replace Pooh with a Princess and the Frog dark ride. Then have Tiana's Place replace the Pooh Corner gift shop. Then have a clone of that dark ride replace Princess Fairytale Hall. But that's just MY opinion.

While your ideas are certainly much better alternatives to the current proposals, Splash in DL would then become the lone piece of Critter Country in a NOS sandwich instead of Pooh and PatF in MK would be an American themed ride in a largely European themed section of the park. Personally, I would place a PatF ride in DL in between PotC and HM as seen in the picture below and expand around the RoA to place it in its own bayou themed area in MK.
