The back of house blood letting has started.. front of house is on edge like you wouldn't believe.
Any day now.. HR is still processing stuff from the first two go arounds.
Universal?

All I said were things are not dire in my state. I can’t speak for every state in the union. Don’t take things out of context.
Florida is dependent on tourism. People like you have been rooting on these travel bans and shutdowns and now you feel sorry for the people being laid off. You can’t have it both ways.
No, I didn't know that nor do I necessarily agree with that, but I would take those kind of comments to the COVID political thread, and then you can say whatever you want. It's the failure of certain leadership in power as to why this thing got out of control in the first place. But you already knew that.
Sorry, milestones as in starting up fireworks just a few months after opening. It might be 6+ months in the states whereas it was 3 months in asia. I don't think their timelines apply here because we're so much worse off in the US

Very important points. Most casual fans...of Disney...really have no idea of how Orlando is constructed. The problems extend well beyond the low caps at MGM...All over for Orlando, hotels are laying off meeting and banquet staff. Many of those are very highend, career positions that pay significantly better then working in the parks for either Disney or Universal.
At Universal, the entire reason Royal Pacific and Sapphire Falls even exist is to serve convention and meeting business. The same can be said for the Hyatt’s, Hilton’s and Marriotts around town which include some of the largest meeting spaces in the country outside of Vegas. From first hand knowledge, many of these recent hotel layoffs are directly related to the complete evaporation of business travel. Leisure tourism is very much a secondary market for those properties.
At the moment, the buzz in the meeting industry is that we are starting to write off spring as well. When Covid hit in March, many of the Fortune 500 list put formal travel restrictions in place immediately through at least the summer. That was quickly extended through the end of the year. In the last few weeks, I’ve begun hearing and seeing ‘no earlier then April’ from some big names, and that’s if everything goes perfectly this winter. Conventions and meetings are typically planned 6-18 months in advance, so filling the calendar again is going to be a very slow process.
The one who inject lidocaine into their walnuts?Obviously you haven’t been reading some of the posters here saying capacity, fireworks and even mask mandates are going away very soon. Don’t listen to the actual reports and buzz in the industry, you need to start listening to the keyboard warriors here!![]()
And yet the town is prepping for severe travel depression...you better let them know those caps will go up to 1/3 normal attendance soonYou do realize capacity limits for the parks have been increased over the past week.
The notion that any business’s lawyers are going to go along with standards LESS strict than recommended health guidelines or legal CYA is on the level of a belief in magic beans.Government mandates (e.g., masks, social distancing, restaurant capacity) are separate things than what the corporate world decides are justifiable expenses in a world of Zoom and Webex meetings or fluctuating business needs. Don’t be silly.
I’ve watched 99% or above compliance since May...all day, everyday...every place.Hey now, a fellow Georgian here. We have nut jobs like the rest of the country, but near the metro, its a much different story then the rural areas off the highways.
You’re never gonna penetrate those shields.Hours are being cut.. we are already into the spring of next year before some hotels are even planing on opening, if they do.. numerous insiders along with cm’s that have heard things say nighttime fireworks won’t be happening until next year sometime.. conventions and business meetings still being cancelled for the rest of the year in Orlando.. parks not even hitting capacity on most days except for on occasion the weekend. You can say what you like but if you just open your eyes and see what’s going on.. also listen to people more in the know then us here.. it’s very plain to see. Nothing wrong with having rose colored glasses on, that I’ll give you but it’s also bad to assume things. Just take a look around.
And this is all being done without knowledge of whether a “second wave” will hit. Could actually get worse .
It’s called:and yet Georgia, even with the "eyeroll" positive test and hospitalization, in schools without masks photos, etc. like Florida are on the same declining trend for the past month
And it would be nice if they don’t Muck it up...but I don’t doubt the capabilityJapan had 2000 positive tests on August 1st, and now 601. Florida had 9000 positive test on Aug 1 and just posted <2000 positive test today, They easily could hit 600 in a month, at the rate it is going down they could hit it in two weeks.
That was my experience in Georgia a couple of weeks ago, southern they don't know what a mask is, northern much better compliance but the small towns really don't wear one unless you approach with one on then they might put one on.
No, I didn't know that nor do I necessarily agree with that, but I would take those kind of comments to the COVID political thread, and then you can say whatever you want.
I fully believe you about the city situation...the problem is the potential cross contamination as you move out of the urban zones into contact with the less compliant areas...cause for concern everywhere. In the Atlanta area it's rare to see people without masks. At the Publix near me I'd guess compliance is at least 95% if not higher. There are also a lot of businesses here that won't allow people inside without a mask.
I think it's really the same as everywhere in the country -- it's less of a northern/southern divide and more of an urban/rural divide. Despite living in North Carolina and Georgia my whole life, the most openly, blatantly racist place I've ever been is upstate New York. It was actually shocking. I think the divide between NYC and the rest of the state may be just as big as the divide between Atlanta and the rest of Georgia.
That does matter in this scenario.
You’re never gonna penetrate those shields.
There’s always at least one. The rest have fallen silent or “fake quit” the threads.
Similar no. Both bad for different reasons. Is it wrong to think we'll recover from this as we have in the past or should we all just give up?
It's the failure of certain leadership in power as to why this thing got out of control in the first place. But you already knew that.
Common sense is also living within your means but who ever does that? It's easier making excuses. So it has nothing to do with people and their actions? Common sense is lacking in quite a few.
FYI Paris is not. Go figure.FYI Tokyo Disney is bringing back fireworks tomorrow. Disney will probably have fireworks by November if not sooner.
Tokyo reopened about two weeks before Paris and WDWFYI Paris is not. Go figure.
It’s like the Little and Large show here.
And Paris just last week cut two hours off the end of the day applicable from next week onwards.Tokyo reopened about two weeks before Paris and WDW
In 2005 I was prepared to learn how to grow my own food and hunt for my food. I knew the house of cards was going to collapse. In 2008 we were apparently hours from it, but alas they bailed out the banks and the world kept churning. I don't keep up with things like I did back then. The doom and gloom forums will mess with your mind. That being said I don't get the sense of impending doom that I did back then. I'm not seeing it where I live.Obviously the poster believes its the end of all things. If that's the case, then why even bother posting? Just go ahead and lay down and wait for the end.
It's funny how everyone on one side of the argument gets banned. It makes it for a very boring thread. It's like listening to yourself talk.Or banned!
