On layoffs, very bad attendance, and Iger's legacy being one of disgrace

I think I know who that poster is. Almost verbatim a PM I got about a month ago from him saying what a dope I was if I didn’t believe it. In worse language and no class. He no longer posts in this thread, so I think he’s back.
SHHHH!!! don’t blow the Op!! 🙅🏼‍♂️

I fully believed that person is brand new and went straight after me like the T-1000...including “you always”
What’s not plausible about that?

And that’s what imma sayin’

...since you brought it up...the longer the cancellation of college program goes - the worse it is for CMs hoping to be recalled. It’s a paradox that is unfortunately true.

And when it is time, If safety protocols allow, CPs will be in as fast as possible first. Much cheaper and they turn a profit off the rent vs that raise schedule full and part timers are getting.

Please keep in mind that corporate Disney almost certainly wants these experienced Cast Members back, eventually.

It's more than just bad PR; it's bringing back a workforce that knows how to do the job.
Considering the lack of college and international workers, I don’t how many “domestic” workers will be ultimately affected.

I don’t think the college program ever comes back as big as it was. Disney saved some money, but they learned those kids could be took away on a school’s whim.

People need to remember that before the parks closed it wasn’t Disney decision to shut the program down. It was made for them by the schools recalling their students. I doubt Disney has a desire to have such a large portion of their workforce that can be took away from them by the decisions of outsiders.

COVID-19 was a special case, but don’t think for a minute that activist groups didn’t notice Disney had to shut down the college program because of decisions of college administrators. Those activist groups would not hesitate in future to pressure colleges to recall their students if they wanted something from Disney.

I agree. My shifts at the parks are pretty depressing sometimes because of how slow it is. Yesterday it felt normal for once.
The parks were also great. It was nice to see people out at the parks and DS enjoying life. Things are starting to get back to normal here too. We tried to eat out Friday night. We gave up after four restaurants all had a one-hour wait. Granted we're still at 50% capacity, but it was good to see. Our numbers are falling like a rock without any draconian lockdowns.

In the last few months, we've had five new hotels open in our area. YIkes!! Obviously all planned before COVID. I hope the tourists come back.

That's not good at all. From reports I have heard mask wearing and social distancing is low. Most just don't care. Its concerning it has to be this way. Like I have said multiple times people wanted things open but many can't be bothered to social distance and wear a mask. IT REALLY ISN'T THAT HARD
you keep saying for the past month or longer but in reality the cases, hospitalizations etc. all the numbers are dropping fast.

Yes they are dropping, still doesn't mean we should stop social distancing and wearing masks.
Well not exactly what you have been saying with your constant warnings of impending doom and disaster, once with the parks opening, then sports, schools etc and then the numbers still keep dropping, the mask mandate probably will be lifted soon in the county and so on.

That would be dumb.

It’s stunning that the lessons of June seem to not be sinking in for the fall/winter. Shutting down is not currently warranted...but “do what you want” all of the sudden is?

Let’s spin the wheel
