I might need to take up cross-country skiing.
There are quarantine restrictions for each state border you cross.

Nothing wrong with that. It's a great all around cardiovascular workout followed by cold beers in the hot tub.As a Vermonter, I've almost resigned myself to the fact that I may need to find another hobby this coming winter. I might need to take up cross-country skiing.
Well I know Chicago is going over and above to discourage travel from certain states - there are 14-day self quarantine orders but clearly they can't be enforced in any meaningful way.I wouldn't be surprised to find that a lot for the reason for numbers rising is people traveling between states. I know here where I live all they do is promote and tell people to vacation within their own province. For the most part that's what most people are doing.
When I hear things like that my fear this will never get better for many of you.Well I know Chicago is going over and above to discourage travel from certain states - there are 14-day self quarantine orders but clearly they can't be enforced in any meaningful way.
Political boundaries don't work so well with a virus. It's too easy to go to Wisconsin or Indiana to avoid restrictions in Illinois.
I was looking for a lake house to replace my Disney trip this month. I actually found several good options in Maine and was almost ready to pull the trigger but when researching the Covid rules further you either need to have a recent negative Covid test (72 hours or less) or quarantine for 14 days in Maine on arrival or be from CT, NY, NJ, NH or VT which are exempt. I thought about doing the Covid tests for the family and still going but we can’t even guarantee a test comes back within 72 hours anymore which is pathetic. I decided to add it to my post Covid list of places to go. I did see NH was more lenient on travelers when doing my research.
We missed our chance at a coordinated national response. I don't mean treating all areas the same, but providing some type of uniform guidance based on specified circumstances. When I hear things like that my fear this will never get better for many of you. ☹
We bought an RV in February. Right before it all came crashing down. Great timing. Sad, but great timing. Once state parks reopened here in May, that is pretty much all we have been doing to get away.maybe by end of August, they’ll be lifted for Florida. Otherwise it’s NH for me. If I don’t take a vacay soon I’m gonna lose my sanity and camping away from civilization is safe to me
You did have that chance when the CDC put out the guidelines on how to reopen the economy. We missed our chance at a coordinated national response. I don't mean treating all areas the same, but providing some type of uniform guidance based on specified circumstances.
Oh. I guess this is a different discussion now. What would be reasonable in your opinion? If this had been managed with any degree of responsibility and common sense Florida could have been under 5% by now on a consistent basis.
My only concern would be all the coming and going but during the concert? Sure!Instead of acting like petulant babies and whining about whether rules will work or not these people embraced the temporary “new normal” and came up with what looks like a pretty decent way to get to do something we all thought wasn’t going to be possible any time soon. If people spent even half the effort they spend coming up with reasons to discredit rules and safety precautions we could have a lot of innovative stuff like this.

If your asking me it should have been to delay opening things. As "draconian" as many say N.Y. is the way they phased reopening was how Florida should have done it. If that was the case none of the parks would be open.Oh. I guess this is a different discussion now. What would be reasonable in your opinion?
Maine doesn’t say what metric they use. Vermont is < 400 active cases per million people (Not new cases but active) and they go to the county level instead of the state, but it’s only Northeast states on the exemption list and not my county (we have a round 1,000 active per million so more than double the requirement).maybe by end of August, they’ll be lifted for Florida. Otherwise it’s NH for me. If I don’t take a vacay soon I’m gonna lose my sanity and camping away from civilization is safe to me
I think it said they had a socially distanced queue that you wait in and then get escorted to your seat. Drinks and food are all ordered on your phone and brought to you. The only time you would need to leave is to use the restroom. I assume in the queue and if going to the restroom you have to wear a mask.My only concern would be all the coming and going but during the concert? Sure!
I live in Vermont, and there's a multi-use trail right near my house. So, no quarantine, and no closures to worry about. There are quarantine restrictions for each state border you cross.
I know folks living on the Illinois/Missouri border who go to MO for shopping, restaurants, bars, etc where there is no mask mandate. You can bet at least some of them are exposed and bringing the virus to Illinois.I wouldn't be surprised to find that a lot for the reason for numbers rising is people traveling between states. I know here where I live all they do is promote and tell people to vacation within their own province. For the most part that's what most people are doing.
I have no words anymore. Too many people are devided in the US to ever make things work. Some even in this thread are against any "draconian measures" as they call it.I know folks living on the Illinois/Missouri border who go to MO for shopping, restaurants, bars, etc where there is no mask mandate. I know how you feel. If we could all just suck it up for a while, we could get through this...but people are being SO STUBBORN and seem proud to say that they buy into conspiracy theories.I have no words anymore.
