If racism and offensiveness were the real reasons of change, wouldn't a nod or tribute within kind of deafeat the purpose of removing it? We took out that ride that might remind you of some incensative things in Song of the South, but here are some things to remember about the thing we don't want you to remember anymore.
Not just that, but bringing in Baxter should be unconscionable.

Or else what?
There are no rules here.
Disney put who they thought should be in charge of the project, either for public relations reasons or because the company felt it was the right thing to do. No one forced them to put Carter in charge of this the same way no one is forcing them to build this overlay.
She still reports to a whole host of white men from whom she must seek approval. Disney also more prominently publicized that the white man who was inspired by the racist movie is involved.

So you're unhappy with Carter getting the project? Assuming they're going forward with the overlay, who should they have put in charge?

Interestingly, in Journey of the Little Mermaid, they forgot about the ceiling during the "Under the Sea" song portion of the ride. You look up at all the fun dancing, singing fish and other sea creatures and see the ugly black ceiling with support beams, lights, wires, etc. I often wonder why they didn't do something better to hide that kind of stuff to create a more seamless illusion.
Oh no, I agree. Little mermaid is rough sets and designs. Rise of the Resistance, however, is a masterpiece.

I have not seen you report any posts - please do so. It is a very difficult task moderating this type of thread. You can find the report link beneath each post.

Funny how you managed to remove my post complaining about what was staying up...yet you leave up posts that I did report accusing others of being “Marxists” and what not.

Again, seems you are actively moderating, but only to favor one side of this debate. I expected more from WDWMagic.

It’s a start and a step in the right direction. Greater societal and systemic change doesn’t take place overnight. This moment was decades in the making, and Disney met it appropriately.

In light of the news of Splash Mountain getting re-themed to Princess and the Frog. This person from Twitter made an interesting post on modern Disney Ride design from then and now.

She used to work in Disneyland. She's an amateur park historian (like 25% of this message board). She's an expert.

The problem is you’re referencing a problematic movie, we’re told. It might as well be Mein Kampf. Any reference to that movie, however indirectly is now verboten.

The sadly hilarious part, is that Harper Lee and Mark Twain have had more outrage directed at them for their books, over Hitler himself. 😂🤦‍♀️

How often do you hear outrage over Mein Kampf in the USA?
