I wasn't concerned about the numbers per se - just making sure that the tweet is from an accurate source - so much on twitter is just opinion.

WDW closed on March 15th at end of business day. FL schools were closed starting the next day, Monday, the 16th.
So, people didn't go to Disney once the schools were closed.

Yup.. used during water shortages, etc too. Simple way to try to split the population into groups.
I stand corrected. It was just the increase at the malls around here, then. Since they couldn't go to WDW.

Are you referring to Orlando area malls? Mall at Millenia, Orlando International Premium Outlets, Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets, Orlando Outlet Marketplace, and The Florida Mall all have been closed since March 18th (two days after schools closed).
Or am I not understanding your point?
I live in a different county. But our malls also closed on the 18th - because the kids were just congregating there - which sort of defeated the purpose of closing the schools. They also closed movie theaters, etc at the same time. Delayed in closing the beaches, but did close them earlier than the county below us, but later than the county above us.

UK funerals now limited to ten or less attendees observing social distancing. No weddings, christenings or similar. No church services.
They were so late. Regardless of the what or where this is an attack that changes by the hour let alone the day.

- Disney said it will send 150,000 rain ponchos from its parks to the medical community, which has been calling for more supplies due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We're seeing stores at least in the morning fully stocked with food and products. TP, Paper products, Lysol, hand sanitizer consistently out but in rare occasion TP and kleenex are there but in small amounts in shelves but there is a limit to buy. Limits to buy in meats also. Stores are only allowing 150ppl in at a time. Customers wait outside in a very very long social distancing line where the employee outside instructs how many to enter, when he sees how many customers are departing the store to adhere to the store policy of only having 150ppl in the store at one time.
If I recall with bag checks, at first it was a casual quick look at the bag by Security. Then later with Security wearing gloves, the bag was searched with their hands going inside the guest bag feeling the contents of it. Is that Security theatre? Does anyone remember the female out of town guest put away in handcuffs by Orlando Police because Security found CBD oil in her bag?

Does anyone know how New York is confirming COVID-19 cases? I found this on their website:
"The State has tested 220,880 individuals, with 15,694 new people tested on March 31"
In Florida the tests are running a little over 10% positive. One of the presenters at the briefing the other day (surgeon general?) mentioned that nationwide they are seeing 90% negative which jibes with Florida. However, based on the NY tests, they'd have to be getting over 34% positive. Are they somehow doing amazingly accurate screening of who needs a test or are they confirming cases some other way?
Something doesn't make sense there. Any insight is appreciated.

Yes, it is 100% security theater. Without x-rays, anybody who was so inclined could easily bring anything they want (including a disassembled rifle and ammunition) into the parks. I won't post the methods one could use but the imagination doesn't have to be too creative to come up with ideas.
They are finding things that people don't try to hide. On the occasion that they find a gun it's because the person either forgot it was in their bag or didn't know there was a bag check so they weren't actually trying to get by security with it. Same with the CBD oil.
The TSA has enough trouble finding things with x-rays. Disney security CMs aren't going to have great success poking around for a few seconds.
With the exception of MK, someone could just whip a rifle out of a bag as they reach the bag check and run into the park and start shooting. The security CMs aren't going to stop them. Maybe one of the police officers would put them down before they kill too many people but the officer still needs to draw their weapon in a surprise situation so there will be some delay in response.
Your feedback is creepy. Didn't notice the metal detectors and the K-9 gorgeous looking dog at the entrance? Doesn't seem like security theatre.

The metal detectors are useless for items in bags. My response may be creepy but trust me. Luckily I'm not a psychopath or a terrorist, but if I was, I could easily get past Disney security with everything I needed. An actual psychopath or terrorist could do the same thing.
I have always felt that if they are going to have security checks there should be x-rays of bags. At least then there is a chance to find things and it would be a deterrent.
