Just saw on a news site where a train engineer in LA was arrested on terrorism charges for trying to derail a train and crash it into the USNS Comfort. What is the world coming to?

Wow.

Federal prosecutors allege train engineer Eduardo Moreno, 44, of San Pedro intended to hit the ship, saying he thought it was "suspicious" and did not believe "the ship is what they say it's for.'"

"Authorities say Moreno admitted to crashing the train intentionally, but said he did not plan in out in advance. It is believed that he acted alone.

He allegedly made statements to a CHP officer that included "You only get this chance once. The whole world is watching. I had to. People don't know what's going on here. Now they will."

Unfortunately, this is one of my fears of a long term "lockdown" or whatever you want to call what we are doing now. The longer it goes, the more lunatics will rise out of the shadows. There is a maximum amount of time you can keep a population behaved under control. I have no idea what the limit is, but at some point there will start to be a lot of issues like this.

2,000+ ventilators can't be shipped for at least a month after the contract to maintain the feds stockpile lapsed last summer, and a contracting dispute meant that a new firm did not begin its work until late January.

While states are free to request ventilators, FEMA has begun advising them they should not expect delivery of the items unless patients are at risk of dying within 72 hours without the devices. FEMA cites "the scarcity" of ventilators in the stockpile.

"Panama is taking a new — if somewhat unorthodox — measure to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus: separation of the sexes.
Starting on Wednesday, only women will be able to leave their homes to buy necessities on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Men in Panama will be allowed to venture outside to run errands on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday."

I mentioned this idea (sort of) to family members, but using house/building numbers instead. Sort of like the odd/even days (based on tag numbers) for buying gas during the fuel crisis in the mid 70s.

We're just about 3 weeks into this and we're still seeing massive shortages of products at our stores. I really hope the hoarders and panic shoppers are proud of themselves.

By the time of that last day of WDW, many states already had school closures and other restrictions.. that’s why I’m so surprised.
We’re almost on week 3 here, and nothing is letting up, there’s still no end in sight. Our restrictions will be extended tomorrow, I’m assuming they will be thru the end of April, with a reassessment at that time.

Many FL schools were closed - so people went to WDW.

Sounds like schizophrenia. Sad.

Oh. Okay. I clicked on a thread entitled: "Is this Disney's worst nightmare". I see it got merged into this thread.

In responding to the one I thought I clicked on: No. That would be letting Mickey Mouse into "public domain". Which means Jan 1st, 2024 is important.
Makes more sense for my erudite comment as well if you know of that thread title
Depends. For Walt it was spiders painted as little clowns. For Roy, it was sentient raisins taking over his home.
