Keeping everything crossed for our trip in May - my parents 60&65 are due to come as well but we will have to see what advice is at the time about them.

Wonder if there will be any good rates on upgrades of extras if attendance drops

May here too....I planned on being there for Mother's day and the weeks following....I'm still optimistic. Otherwise it won't be until next year we can go back.

I was dianosed with Stage 4 ovarian cancer back in November, and have been basically confined to home ever since. No, it' not fun, but it certainly isn't the worst thing in the world either, as others have described the "ordeal" of home confinement for 2 or 3 weeks. I've made considerable progress with chemo and surgery and some very wise doctors, so I'll be really PO'd if I end up dying from this virus because some yahoo thought his or her happiness was more important than my survival.

Every doctor commenting has said over and over that testing is the key...I don’t see any reason behind that “agenda” other than science - aka truth.

There are other agendas and we have to smoke those out as a society NOW before something “scary” becomes something “terrible” through mismanagement

Exactly. And that mortality rate in South Korea will keep falling as more and more testing is done and a few more weeks go by. And then similar results will come in around the world as the weeks go by and more statistics become available from trustworthy nations.

But that's not going to sell newspapers, or create more clicks. So keep the panic going!

What we should be doing is taking care of our very elderly and infirm. It's folks over the age of 70, and especially over the age of 80 already with other ongoing health problems, that can suffer the most with the flu-like symptoms of Covid-19.

So stop hogging toilet paper at Costco and take care of the elderly.

You manage it according to how your healthcare systems can cope with the numbers. Measures may have to come and go after the initial surge, depending on local conditions. Until we develop a vaccine or more effective widespread treatment that allows us to limit outbreaks in the first place.

Then we should do the same for the flu, every season.

Oh Nemo....my MIL had stage 4 ovarian decades ago.....and will be turning 80 this week! Stay safe and rather a blessing there is the internet to escape to and entertain to some extent for confinement these days.....and allow us to shop too.... I am bothered by reports of people knowingly diagnosed and still going out in public....but hoping those are the extreme exception vs the norm.
