This shouldn’t have opened until the new year. But that wasn’t going to happen. Like many other Disney and uni attractions management overrode those in the know.

Having just watched the Imagineering Story and being reminded of the catastrophic opening of Disneyland, I can only conclude that rushed, artificial deadlines are a true Disney tradition.

If this board is praising the ride...it is indeed a success. I've held off watching the video though since I think I'll decide how much i love it by how I feel in the ride.

Do we know how FP+ is going to work for it? As in, is there a date for when it'll start accepting fastpass or is that already working for tomorrow?

I am trying to figure out how the light saber effect is being done. The saber itself is clearly a practical effect, but how are they doing the hole in the ceiling?

Slow down any video and all this is just a roof that pulls back that section on a track out of the way of the laser effect perhaps?

None. All the queues terminate at the first pre-show. My understanding is express will just skip the long outdoor queue and the indoor "tunnel"

And as I've pointed out, New Orleans Square opened with neither of its attractions or signature restaurant. In fact the second attraction wouldn't even open for 3 more years.

Which doesn’t really matter when the only ride open is Pirates of the freaking Caribbean. The most significant ride in theme park history.

This. Queues merge in the “base” queue area.

Hate to be that guy but does anyone else feel like it’s kind of missing a “climax” moment?

I get that the escape pod is the “thrill” climax but I feel like it’s kind of missing a lot of the big “oh ” moments that had been written about so much. What happened to Kylo running at you? It just looks like a screen of Kylo walking towards you until a door closes. It just feels like it’s a missing a big impressive finale scene like a lot of other E-tickets (the boulder in IJA, the end of Mystic Manor etc.)

I think the most impressive thing about this is the queue/pre-show. Definitely going to go down in history as one of the great Disney queues.

Ah yes...The FoP five hour "Tour of Pandora" and also a bridge and Harambe experience.

My favorite part is the sign person for the back of the line just "Existing" on other planets.

But that didn't open until months after New Orleans Square itself did. It originally opened with just shops and a fast food place.

Watched the POV. Looks like fun for sure. I'd be lying if I said I was blown away though...but I'm sure the queue and preshow greatly add to the overall experience, obviously a video is just a video. Hopefully someday we will see something in Florida on the scale and actual ride length of Pirates Shanghai...I was hoping this would be it but based on the video to me, it's not.

strongly disagree. putting riders in an “escape pod” that simulates a drop and then crash-landing back on the planet you started on is some grade-a material for an impressive finale/climax. also kylo ren running around you was just from a leak, it’d be out of character anyway
