Do Escalators Break Easily?
To quote the YouTube video above, when escalators break down they become stairs, sorry for the convenience!
Do Escalators Break Easily?
Ramps are ADA compliant...
Only having a ramp is actually advised against in the design guidelines. So why build 2 entrances, 1 that can only accommodate most people, not all when you can focus all your attention and resources on building 1 great entrance that everyone can experience and enjoy?
Do Escalators Break Easily? Why are they used everywhere in the world if the "break easily"? that is just ridiculous.... It is purely a cost saving measure...
What an odd post

Or it means that it is good to have multiple types of access, that accessibility goes beyond wheelchairs. An elevator would be a good supplement to a large ramp for those who will have difficulty with it.So that just leaves an elevator? Thats widely impractical on so many levels. Pun intended!

Escalators break easily. Looking at the long term, much better to put a slightly angled pathway up to achieve the same result. This is Disney being smart on cost saving.
Ugh, only on this message board would someone escalate the arguement about escalators.
Because you’re Disney and you can do all of the above. So why build 2 entrances, 1 that can only accommodate most people, not all when you can focus all your attention and resources on building 1 great entrance that everyone can experience and enjoy?
Was there ever any doubt? We are on a Disney chat boardSo basically the ramp is still the best option? Great, there's 20 minutes I'll never get back...
Is six flags gonna run the ride?Where are the lockers to store your stuff before you ride going to go?
And it’s a ride, not an “experience”...”experience” is a dog whistle Disney is using against you.
Probably next to the entrance like in Shanghai.Where are the lockers to store your stuff before you ride going to go?
A company that swears up and down that they are 100% about creating “magical memories”?Ugh, only on this message board would someone escalate the arguement about escalators. In a 30 year life cycle, considering the amount of foot traffic and general disregard by the public to treat anything with anything other than neglect (i.e. wdw tourists; think of the moving walkway and why it was removed) , can you really blame wdo for wanting to do something that takes less maintenance to upkeep? Come on guys, you're being short sided and slighting Disney just because. If it was your company you'd do the same thing if it was a viable alternative. Can't we all rise above such topical things. Let's all build an incremental understanding of why escalators aren't necessarily the top to bottom choice.
I understand...and yet still the use of that word in any part of speech has started to take on an undertoneMy use of the word "experience" was as a verb, not a noun. I call rides "rides" and non rides "attractions" thank you very much.
A company that swears up and down that they are 100% about creating “magical memories”?
They’re not GE.
Need help carrying the bucket today?
...it’s funny you say that. I’m ex-Disney and an engineer....it’s amazing how it creates clarityNo I'm good. Thx.
Sorry that my engineer brain thinks this makes good sense. Hardly towing the Disney line.
