Also, speaking of garbage men....... I could use some advice.....

I started purging back in October. Like a deep purge. All the broken and discarded crap left behind by my ex, plus the stuff I no longer want in my house that doesn't serve a purpose. Including the garage, which was so filled with junk that I couldn't park in it and now has room for two cars! Anything that wasn't donateable went in the trash and recycle. My curb has looked like the Clampett's lived there every week for the past couple months. I keep thinking this will be the day that the garbagemen get angry and break/toss my cans because they're sick of me, but they haven't. They've placed them upside down and orderly back on the curb. They've taken every oversized thing I've put out there, too, instead of just telling me to schedule a bulk pickup.

I don't deserve them. I'm so incredibly grateful for them. And I'd like to thank them. How does one go about thanking garbage collectors? I thought about leaving them something, but then wasn't sure if they'd assume it was trash.

I'd start with a phone call to their office to say how happy you are with their service. Now a question are you or a neighbor home when they come around if so a nice envelope with a little something would be nice.
