Also, speaking of garbage men....... I could use some advice.....

I started purging back in October. Like a deep purge. All the broken and discarded crap left behind by my ex, plus the stuff I no longer want in my house that doesn't serve a purpose. Including the garage, which was so filled with junk that I couldn't park in it and now has room for two cars! Anything that wasn't donateable went in the trash and recycle. My curb has looked like the Clampett's lived there every week for the past couple months. I keep thinking this will be the day that the garbagemen get angry and break/toss my cans because they're sick of me, but they haven't. They've placed them upside down and orderly back on the curb. They've taken every oversized thing I've put out there, too, instead of just telling me to schedule a bulk pickup.

I don't deserve them. I'm so incredibly grateful for them. And I'd like to thank them. How does one go about thanking garbage collectors? I thought about leaving them something, but then wasn't sure if they'd assume it was trash.

Too bad you're not home when they pick up the weekly trash. because you could thank them in person. Not sure if I'd leave anything for them, only because they're so busy and if they see something, they might not realize it's for them--and just assume it's junk and throw it into the garbage truck.

A few years ago, hubs had some extra stuff he was dumping, and they took it all. This was right around the Christmas holiday. So the next week, he was home and heard the truck outside. He went out and gave each one of them a cigar for Christmas! They really liked that.

No work for me again tomorrow. It is currently -19 with windchill -34 and going to get down to -30 or so again with -48 to -50 windchill. As longs as it is sunny and I don't have to go outside I'll be okay. It is supposed to be +34 or so in couple of days with snow and some rain. :(

Well, at least you find out the night before, so if you like sleeping in, you're all set for tomorrow!!

On the funny side.. I'm the one nagging everyone to hurry up XD
With mine, it's them telling me how to go through security, even though they still take off belts and jewelery and I'm like...you don't need to do that anymore. It's just everything out of your pockets and whatnot. And then they always stop because my dad has such horrible travel anxiety that he has to check every 20 steps to be sure we have everything. They also bicker the entire way through. I'd rather go through at my own pace (which I actually walk very fast through an airport) and catch up with them later.

My mom wasn't at all upset. She knew, especially with my father, that I just wanted to go through in peace.

So no work tomorrow for me... I was put between a rock and a hard place...... go in tomorrow, and sit in the freezing cold building, because a consumers energy plant had an incident, and they are now asking the entire state of Michigan to turn their heat down to 64. Work at home (only if you have 8 hours worth of work) or take PTO.

Well I ran out of work today around noon.... and I refuse to work in a freezing cold building, sitting around, waiting for work to come along. So I gave in and took PTO. At least I can stay in my own home. And I have a different gas company than the one having problems, so I'm keeping my house at the usual 69

You had TSA-pre I assume? because you still have to remove everything but your shoes thru normal security.
