T is off school today due to the polar vortex (as I’m sure anyone in the mid west is)..

He said “Ugh! Why does this stupid vortex have to come during Catholic Schools Week?! We’re missing all of the fun. I want to go to school, we have heat!” 😂

Yesterday was “swap a teacher”, “messy science”, and “high school spirit wear day” again... and once again I borrowed a shirt for T.

Then, yesterday afternoon, my mom went to an all boys school to buy spirit wear, because T had told her that he wished he had his own. (they have 3-4 high school spirit wear days per year)
The problem? She went to a school that I’m hoping he doesn’t attend. 😡. I do not want to influence him at this age! Let the crazy dads do that to their kids. We have 4 more years before I have to start worrying about high school choices.
My mom and I ended up arguing over it... but I did thank her for the clothes.lol

This area is really weird about high school, it defines you for the rest of your life.. even more than college. When people here ask “Where did you go to school?” They’re talking high school.😂🤦‍♀️ We have “dad cliques” who choose their sport teams based on the high school of the kid’s dad. It’s so weird. I try to stay far away from that.

This reminded me of Gilmore Girls and the Yale stuff Rory's grandparents always got her.

Sympathy like. Dh and I were checking out the temps in the midwest this morning. Our 12 seemed warm compared to the -30’s around Chicago.

Yep when I woke up this morning it was -30 but felt like -54. :cold: 3 hours later it is still the same temp/windchill.

Yesterday the endodontist called my husband with a cancellation and could fit him in today as the first appointment of the day. But today when I woke up and saw the temp and started thinking about the possible black ice on the road, the news was reporting a lot of cars stalling & accidents, and the cold temps I didn't think it was a good idea for him to go, the endodontist is about a hour away. All I said was to drive prudently and was he sure he wanted to be out driving today. And hubs said, "You are right I should reschedule." So he must have be a little worried about being out in this weather too. He does have to do a service at a near by nursing home today, but hopefully it will have warmed up to like -20 by then.

Lol. I’ve never seen that show! My parents are funny.. my brother went to a different high school than my dad attended. My sister married a guy who went to the same school as my dad. My bro in law and my dad are constantly exchanging digs with my brother about the two schools.🙄
Everyone has an opinion on where T should go... I’m the parent, he’s the student.. we will decided TOGETHER when the time comes.. and in the meantime, we just need to concentrate on his grades.

At least Yale is a college and not a high school!😂😂🤣

I just googled Cincinnati high school focus to see if anything came up.. I found a few articles right off the bat. 🤣🤣

This might help to put my previous comment in perspective..
