Space Mountain is not a ride for thrill seekers. It has a max speed of 28 mph, 26 ft drop, no inversions, and 3.7 Gs. Any other park would call it a kiddie coaster.

It very much is a ride for thrill seekers. As somebody that loves super intense coasters and goes rock climbing and sky diving (actually sky diving is kind of boring), and heli skiing, etc, Space Mountain is very much able to produce thrill. There is a lot more to thrill than speed and Gs. It's not an intense coaster, but it's certainly a thrilling one.

The Incredibles: Jack-Jack Encounter

STORY
Welcome back to the Tomorrowland Interplanetary Convention Center, where Edna Mode is showing off her latest Super suits! Also, as special guests, famous superhero family known as The Incredibles will be greeting patrons! And for today only, you will get to have a special visit with the newest member of this family! The baby that has 17 powers, the laser-shooting child... Jack-Jack! We hope you enjoy your time here at the Tomorrowland Interplanetary Convention Center, and hope to see you here when X-S Tech comes to show off new technology!

PRE-SHOW #1
Guests enter the building, and the huge iconic Incredibles logo is on the right wall, and hanging from the ceiling are models of TV we see in Winston’s home from Incredibles 2. A cast member welcomes everyone to the Tomorrowland Interplanetary Convention Center, and of course asks everyone to please move all the way inside. Once everyone is filed in, the cast member “gets a notice” that everyone is inside, and he/she will ask everyone to turn their attention to the TV’s as they start the pre-show. The TV’s will all turn on, and we see something very similar to the opening of The Incredibles, with the Supers getting interviewed live, except now by the convention people. They all talk about how their super excited to be there, and tell all the guests that they’re going to love Jack-Jack. After the interview is over, the cast member once again “gets a notice” that it’s now time to meet Edna. The doors open, and guests file their way through and into the 2nd preshow.

PRE-SHOW #2
Guests enter the second room, and it’s an elaborate viewing room, with an amazing Edna Mode animatronic standing at a large table, where she can “walk” around and have very fluid movement. At both sides of the room are tubes that hold the new Super suits. Edna welcomes everyone inside, and begins showing off the new suits. During this, she moves over to the tube on the guests’ left side, and begins talking about how marvelous it is. But suddenly, with a very good use of Pepper’s Ghost, an incredible Violet animatronic suddenly appears in the suit and says hello to Edna and everyone. She then uses her powers to put a force-field around the right-side suit and makes it invisible using another Pepper’s Ghost effect. Edna applauds Violet as she runs to the other tube, before Violet disappears along with the suit. Edna runs back towards the center, trying to keep her cool after losing the suits, before sighing and lying down on the table. The cast member then reminds Edna that the guests are meeting Jack-Jack today, and that springs Edna back into excitement! She checks a screen on the table, and is reported that the theater has been ready for a while, and that they’re wondering what’s taking her so long. She quickly closes the report and tells the cast member to get the guests ready, as she presses a button on the table that opens the theater doors. She says goodbye to all the guests as she goes to activate her control of the theater. Guests then make their way into the theater.

MAIN SHOW
Guests then enter one of two theaters, take their seats, and wait for the show to begin. The restraints come down, and the screens turn on to show Jack-Jack in his Super suit crawling around in the main center stage. We then hear Edna say over the intercoms to start getting excited as she opens up the tube, and all the lights shine to show... Nothing. We hear Bob and Helen come into Edna’s control room and ask what’s going on. She says that the guests can’t see Jack-Jack, and that they need to solve this quickly. Bob then comes up with getting Jack-Jack to turn gigantic, and they begin offering cookies. We see Jack-Jack get excited on the screens, but then get angry when he gets no cookies. He turns into his angry monster form, and Helen activates the purple goop which turns him back to normal, and we see purple-lit steam come out of the stage. When that doesn’t work, Bob says over the intercom that there are bad guys here in the theater, and this gets Jack-Jack going. We see the screens glitch as Jack-Jack begins turning gigantic, and steam rises “due to Jack-Jack starting to break the floor electronics” but of course it’s actually to block our view of the tube as the giant Jack-Jack animatronic rises. Suddenly, the tube “breaks” just like it did in Alien Encounter, as it can’t contain giant Jack-Jack. We now see the giant Jack-Jack as he laughs and begins wandering around the stage. Edna says that Jack-Jack has some amazing powers, and that very shortly they will begin showing them. But just before that can happen, the screens glitch out, and Screenslaver appears. He laughs maniacally as he activates the hypnotism to lure Jack-Jack off the stage and cause chaos in the audience. We see Jack-Jack walk towards the side of the stage, and the lights go out as we hear and feel a giant pound on the floor, telling us Jack-Jack is now loose in the theater. Many shenanigans happen until finally, Jack-Jack is back on the stage after firing his lasers and destroying the screens. We hear Edna sigh in relief as she says that that’s all the time that Jack-Jack has, and the main tube closes, the restraints are released, and we exit into either Star Traders or Venus, depending on which theater.

I’ll pass :)

Haha. Why? Would it not be essentially the same ride only with Stitch instead of Buzz? Do you have an aversion to the Stitch IP? Maybe so. Regardless, I personally think it would be a smart overlay. I would rather "non-IP" but It's not like Stitch wouldn't work well for this ride type. It certainly doesn't make sense to keep it Buzz Lightyear themed.

Does anyone doubt everything in the MK will get refurbed before the 50th?

Considering their inability to even decide what to replace Stitch with, let alone get it built... yeah. There is a plausible reason to doubt it won't be 100% completed for the start of the 50th celebration, especially since the celebration is a year and a half long and they'll give themselves permission to finish things within that window and call it accomplished.

It wouldn't be Disney if the paint wasn't still drying the day anything opens. But I think they'll be ready.

I'm not crazy about Incredibles on Tomorrowland, but this would be a great attraction! Always room on the Imagineering boards if you wanna do more stuff like this. We got a game coming up called Sorcerer's Apprentice that's gonna have teams and people like Disney Dan and Defunctland coming to guest judge!

I did a jack jack encounter once.

I thought Jack Jack Encounter sounded familiar! I remember your write up was pretty good too! That was the first Disney Overhaul Comp, right?

Anyways, back somewhat more on topic.

The new sign for Monsters Inc looks very nice in a vacuum. But kinda really weird in the current Tomorrowland. I realize that they're doing this overhaul piece by piece. But they should have at least done the Stitch sign redo at the same time to make it symmetric and not stick out as bad.

WondersOfLife

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
Have you been on any of the other (newer) versions of it?
I’ve been on the Disneyland version twice. I’ve seen a video of the Shanghai version, but I dont Like the showscenes in Shanghai’s version. They’re repetitive and boring. Nothing is different.

I posted it a long time ago. I was apparently inspired by another post. Oh the madness that is the endless loop of jack jack.
I might have used it for a competition too, but I don't remember.

It's actually sad that they couldn't get their act together to come up with a SGE replacement for 2021. Remember Disneyland had all their refurbs done before the 60th started, not during? Just shows how little TDO cares.
SGE is pretty much abandoned until they can come up with a replacement, right?

I'm hoping the replacement is not Wreck it Ralph, Incredibles, or even Big Hero 6 because I don't really think it fits in the theme of Tomorrowland. I want to see something original that bring the futuristic feels in Tomorrowland. I would love to see new and original characters in a new ride with a great storyline. Heck, Disney can even use a scrapped idea and make it better for a magnificent ride. Hopefully, SGE gets a great replacement that will make everyone happy.
