I get comments, nothing negative, about me bringing lunch to work every day. Random people are shocked that I do that apparently. I tell them it is less costly and healthier.

Plenty of people bring their lunch, or bring it a few days a week, and buy it the other days. It's very common where I work. Having stated the above, I buy lunch each day as it's my main meal, and than in the evening at home, I just eat lighter.

I meant to post this earlier.. I didn’t pass it up. :( 🤣

Look at how they hacked my name.:cautious:

So your name is Kim-Ber-E-Ley, at Starbucks anyway. That would be a mouthful if it really was. I am guessing they pressed an extra E by accident. Hopefully at least, although people can find so many different ways to spell simple names. This one kid I know at the gym the kids do to is named Madison, but her parents spelled it Madysyn, which guarantees that she has to spell it for everyone. They unknowingly made her life a teeny bit more complicated.

Good Morning! Pouring rain here in Michigan today... I decided a mental health day was needed today. Got my mickey tie dye shirt and lounge pants on.... it's going to be a chill day!

Mental health day! Yep as the school year progresses (usually in January/February) there are just a couple days that a mental health break is necessary. Adulting is hard sometimes. I hope you had a good chill out day.

I tried to legitimately catch up but failed. Sorry guys.

Update: they moved my dad back into critical care. Blood clots in his lungs and abdomen. He'll likely need another surgery to deal with them. I tried to call him but he was confused and drugged up and hung up on me. I almost flew home this morning but the doctors said he's stable and I can't use vacation days for this unless he's really really critical. *sigh*

So sorry to hear about this latest setback for your dad. Let's hope the surgery helps to clear the condition. I can only imagine how difficult it must be for you, to be a long distance away. But you're still there with him in spirit and I'm sure he would want you to stay there, to take care of yourself and A. Just keep checking in daily with his medical care team, until he's doing a lot better. Hugs and prayers to you, your dad, and A.

So today is a special day. Our 38th Anniversary. We already talked this morning and other than a harrowing experience driving through a flooded road last night, DH is doing well. Nine more days until our Disney trip. I cannot wait. We gonna need some down time! ;)

Congratulations!! (But sorry his job is off-site, with the important work he's doing.) At least you both have a Disney trip in just 9 days, and that's not very far away.

You two love birds hang in there -- vacation is just around the corner and you both deserve it! Hugs to you on your anniversary. :)

Nope....he won't eat chicken unless it's in nugget form, and he won't touch veggies. Or soup, or ribs. There's not a single piece of meat I can get him to eat, other than a hotdog or battered fried cod. He won't eat a steak, or a pork chop, or a chicken breast, or a hamburger, or even bacon. None of it.

I'm curious as to why he won't eat other meats. I mean I know it is because of his autism, but why does he say he doesn't like them? Texture? Taste? Look? I saw on your other post that you are working on getting him to try new foods, is that part of his school program too? I hope he eventually ventures out to other foods, because he is missing out on a lot of good stuff!:)

I assume it is an error since I think you live in Queens County. You should only be called to serve in your county I believe. When I was called back when I lived in Queens, I had to report to the courthouse in Jamaica.
Yeah, that's where I served in February 2017. I'm pretty sure I'm off the hook. Thanks to all of you. It took several hours today but I was finally able to reach someone at the courthouse and she confirmed that this was an error, and that I should attach my proof of service to the summons and mail it back to them. Which I did. Thanks again for everyone's tips and advice. I knew Disney fans would have the answer, lol. 😜

Oh that's too bad. Positive vibes to your dad and to you and A.

This post reminds me of the band teacher in our school. She eats school lunch everyday, she says she doesn't really care what it is as long as she doesn't have to cook it! When we asked what she has for dinner at home and she said cereal.

I've always been a little wary of Pizza connoisseurs . It's Pizza! It is composed of crust, thick or thin, tomato based sauce, cheese and some toppings. :hungry: Designer Pizza's are not pizza's. They are dried up slabs of crusty, charred something, with blotches of weird stuff semi covering the sometimes circular, sometimes square surface that is basically tasteless, over priced and oh, so in. :hungover: Not good tasting, good for you are even identifiable in some cases, but, the in crowd dictates there consumption. I've never been in with the in crowd and if I die tomorrow I will know that I have enjoyed most of my brief, but, decadent stay on Spaceship earth, with or without the Phoenicians help.
I used to feel like you, that pizza is just pizza, until I found Salvatore's Coal Fired Pizza in Port Washington, NY. It is the most unbelievably amazing pizza I have ever had. It is like a different species of pizza. Thin, crunchy crusts, tomato sauce just sweet enough but not overpowering. The freshest ingredients. I was never really so much of a pizza fan, but now we go every Saturday night. Also, they comped our entire check last year one time during the holidays just because we brought the staff brownies. And they just comped 2 carafes of wine this past weekend because it was Phil Monster's birthday. If you ever find yourself in Port Washington, definitely go:
