Yeah, one of my favorites. Never fails to get me nervous before getting on, and always makes me laugh from start to finish. One of those coasters that really makes you say - "Wow!"

It's such a large building they probably bring cranes inside to do the installation.

Go read up on his thoughts of Disneyland. He didn't want rollercoasters. Disney was to be different.

I don't think he ever had a thing against roller coasters. He had a thing against unthemed, cheap looking coasters. Which is why he had no problem building coasters as long as he made them special and themed.
He probably wouldn't like Goofy's Sky School. Or Barnstormer. California Screamin and Primeval Whirl maybe since they fit into the theme of the lands they're in even though they are exposed coasters. But that's a gray area at best.
Something like GotG which seems to be pretty well themed I don't believe he'd have a problem with it. By all indications it will have at least as much theming as Space Mountain, Gringotts, Tower of Terror, Everest, etc. Walt may havr a problem with how it fits with Epcot. But i doubt he'd have a problem with the ride itself.

Still wish they would do that. What a simple way to add a thrill ride, compliment existing offerings, and keep in the theme for Epcot. Just dust off the Matterhorn blueprints and make the shell look like Fuji.

When they built Gringotts they enclosed the building before installing track. This is nothing that hasn't been done before.

And to Space Mountain as well. I believe the earliest concepts for Space Mountain were drawn up in '64.
Walt embraced coasters very much so. As long as there was a good theme and story that enveloped it.

The queue for the ride will be in the former UOE building. While the huge building is the gravity building for the ride.
