Anyone have any plans for the 4th? Hate that it falls on a freaking Wednesday this year. Can't even stretch the holiday into a long weekend. I'm working all week (except for the 4th). I usually watch the concert from Wash. DC in the evening. I like that show, and it's nice to see all the military people represented in the audience.

The only other thing I'm doing on the 4th is baking a blueberry loaf cake--blueberries are traditional with me for the 4th. My mother used to bake a blueberry cake every 4th, so that's who I got started doing that. Hubs is running a road race in the morning--he does this every 4th. So he can run miles in the heat, and I'll stay home in a/c, and stuff my face with delicious blueberry cake! :joyfull::hungry::joyfull:
Sympathy like. I'm going to a farm market and a blueberry kale smoothie is on my to have list;)

Sounds like a good 4th. We will be going to my sister's house and then to a friend's annual 4th of July party. Then rest because our vacation starts the next day. I haven't seen that the Boston Pops will be on tv this year, I even checked Bloomberg because it was on there last year. I am looking forward to the PBS Washington one it has John Stamos as the host, the Beach Boys and Jimmy Buffett. I might not watch it on the 4th but I have both DVR's set to record it!

The Pops are on TV again this year -- Bloomberg is broadcasting. It's been advertised a lot here. I'll check out some of it. I tend to go back and forth between that and the PBS Capitol 4th one. Here's a link announcing the lineup (few seconds of a commercial, but then the conductor of the Boston Pops, Keith Lockhart, shares program highlights with Bloomberg viewers).

I saw on my Facebook feed that Disney parksblog is going live on Wednesday at about the time the fireworks would start.
Excellent! Our town fireworks are July 4th, but we can see them from our backyard since we are on the top of a hill. The real estate listing for our house when we bought it even mentioned that you could watch the fireworks from the deck. :hilarious: Hoping the timing is well aligned so I can see both without hopping in and out of the house. :)

If you had a tablet, you could stream the fireworks and then watch it outdoors, along with your local fireworks.

Oh cool. I’ll check it out here again. I must have missed it the first time I scrolled through.
