Don't belong to Costco anymore. As a single person, the quantities Costco sell are way to plentiful. Still have the card in case I decide I want to rejoin, but, chances are I won't.

I have a business Sam's Club card. I receive 4 cards to share. It is just an 'expense' to my business. Added bonus that @figmentfan423 would like is the business members can get in at dawn before the 'general' membership gets out of bed.

At one point in my family there were two nuns, one teaching Brother of Christian instruction and one Franciscan Monk .
None of them stayed in the calling. One left more dramatically then the others. It seems that they tend to frown on Pregnant Nuns. All married, had families except one that became a raging alcoholic.

The young parish priest that married DWifey and myself (the ceremony was co-officiated by her family's Lutheran pastor at our church before she converted to Catholisism after we were married) actually left the church a few years later to marry a lady he fell in love with. They had 2 children before he unfortunately passed way too young from cancer. He was a really great guy, though. Very sad.

My friend called this am and not only had no food in her house but has 25 coming for Thanksgiving. No plan or menu either:eek: I'm so glad I'm stocked up on Basin bath bombs:inlove:

Oh My! Well I want to hear the rest of the story.

Me, if I had 25 coming I'd be going and buying a precooked bird and a Honey Baked Ham. I'd pick up every color of premade jello and plop the jello into a clear bowl. Buy from the deli many pounds of sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes and fresh cranberry sauce along with green bean casserole and a huge container of stuffing. Go down the aisle throw a dozen glass jars of gravy into cart. Stop and buy pies.

Next stop the good liquor aisle. The wine for diner section. I'd throw all the prepared food into various casserole dishes warm, serve the alcohol and then dinner. This dinner is salvageable just need to cheat a lot :)

I get to supply Deviled Eggs, which somehow has become my alleged specialty. I also was assigned the task of making a Pumpkin Pie. By making, I'm sure they meant buy one from Walmart along with a bowl of Cool Whip. I haven't put together the eggs yet, but, the pie is ready to go.

The partner at the office who normally brings the deviled eggs to our office Thanksgiving potluck (last Thurs.) passed the torch this year to any and all takers. 3 different kinds showed up, and DARN they were good...!!!!! :hungry:

Why? Mindless bouncing around is what we do in these parts! :D

and Mr @SteveBrickNJ we also dabble in Trip Reports to live vicariously through other peoples trips.

Right now I am dreaming of one of these bits of loveliness from Avatarland...best dessert of the Hurricane Irma Trip

The priest in the next community over that has a parish that we are members of has had the same girlfriend for 20 some years that I know of. The openly date and are out and about together, vacation together etc. It isn't 'talked' about but obviously everyone knows. I still wonder how this all flies with the diocese. Don't care but still wonder.

THNX for asking, long story short 3 stores later(I had to go to all but one so no prob) I wound up ordering it:mad:

My DD and DS order most things online. My son looked at furniture for this apartment in person but ordered it online from major stores.
It was cheaper online. I helped. I went and then sat at his apartment and each delivery came as ordered online. My DD is the one that got us hooked on online ordering and there is little she doesn't order online. Clothing more than anything is mall purchased. She is so tiny it is just more simple for her. When she saw Minnie Luggage at the store she wanted, in store it was 25% more. Saving 25% and not having to schlep it through the mall was worth it to her.

Me, this is the first Amazon order I had to return. Previously I had one issue with an Ebay I had ordered. I blame myself, too new at it and didn't know enough to watch the read between the lines of the veiled description. Kinda reminded me of the naive early days of me being on a then popular Disney Forum. .

It's a mythical creature....it doesn't really exist. You believe in it until you have kids.

The neighbors on the property to the south of me are Polish immigrants, maybe 25 years at best here. They always do lazy Sundays, simple family time on Sundays. No lawn, no cleaning, no household chores. I watch the kids and the wife go in overdrive all week but come Sunday it is genuinely the day of rest. I envy that but not enough to add more to my life the other six days.

Same with one of our snowbirds they are planning on wintering here instead of Puerto Rico. Their house survived in pretty good shape but not expecting power until maybe spring. They had to go and buy a winter wardrobe for the first time in many years.

My Sis was in a week ago. I can't believe I forgot to ask her about the $$$ impact on her condo in the Keys. She was sure they were going to be hit with an assessment.
