Agree with this, I found nothing specular story wise.Avatar is basically the same story as Pocahontas but in space...not a riveting movie, but amazing visuals. I'm hoping the sequels are better and can't wait to see the land!
But it was indeed a giant tech leap in visuals.
I think the history was very basic to digest. Most of Cameron stories have had way higher meaning and deeper message and they while famous.. they weren't that hit money wise. (Titanic and Avatar, the biggest grossing films are more balanced and less "thinkering" )
I would prefer that over "stuff", but sometimes the "stuff" costs a lot less, especially at half off.
My dh and I have decided to be horrible parents and do Christmas up big time for each other and the boys not quite as much. The boys only asked for clothes a couple of video games and some craft stuff. Come to think about it most of what my dh and I are getting is crafting related or in my case sewing.
