Good news for people buying laptops in the next years.
Intel ate their own ego and decided to integrate their tech with AMD graphics (Radeon).
Which will make use of intel cpus (very good) and AMD gpus (very good) in a single interconnected package (less power, less space, less heat)
https://newsroom.intel.com/editoria...nce-cpu-discrete-graphics-sleek-thin-devices/

Seems both of them declared war on Nvidia. (the dominant graphics tech right now)
No idea what you are talking about, but seeing as it makes you happy, then 2 thumbs up from me. ;):)

I've owned many, many cars and trucks, and my two faves were the 300zx (two-seater, five-in-the-floor, t-tops) and my 1979 Camaro Berlinetta. It only had the 305 in it, but that thing still kicked some major butt and I worked on it myself a lot of the time. I was too scared to do that with the Nissan.

I've owned many cars over the years, too, but, no trucks...and I'm from freakin' Texas...!!!!! :joyfull: ;)

My first, in HS, was a '71 olds Cutlass with a Rocket 350. But, alas, it only had a 2-bbl. carburetor. It hauled some pretty good rear, but, it would have definitely been beefier with a Rochester 4-bbl. :) I worked on that one a lot, but, never plopped a new intake manifold and 4-bbl. on it. :cyclops:

My new '85 Mustang GT was also a 5-on-the-floor, like your ZX, with the 5.0 liter (302 c.i., but, it also weighed about 500 lbs. less than that F-bodied Camaro Berlinetta ;)), of course.
I thought that puppy was bad pullin' 225 hp and about the same in lb.-ft. of torque.
Nothin' compared to the top-end 'Stangs of today...They're horsepower and torque monsters...!!!!!!! :joyfull: :)

HA! They sure are!!! Funny thing...I had to switch to trucks because I have a MAJOR leadfoot. (I figured if I couldn't have speed, I might as well have power. Also, I should have been a professional driver...precision and/or speed are my "thing"...it makes people super nervous when we're in my F150 and I have to pull the mirrors in to fit into a spot, lol. And don't ever ask my husband's friend about driving through Boston for a tux-fitting we were late for...) Well...my first truck - 1999 Isuzu Amigo, true ladder frame, big V6, 5-in-the-floor, fully loaded...when I bought it, it could eat Mustangs for lunch off the line, but the 'Stang was better for the long run. The Camaro was pretty rocking just because *muscle car* and power. It wasn't great from a dead stop, but once it got going it was pretty awesome (I could easily out-drive a 'Vette in traffic back in the day). The ZX though...that thing had it ALL. I could be doing 80 and give it a goose and it took off like a shot, nevermind that even rice-burners didn't stand a chance against it from a dead stop. And the handling...90 degree corners at 40mph with hardly any lean..it felt like it hugged the corners.

At this point, I'm not so much of an idiot speed-demon, so I think I could get another sports/muscle car and be okay...my F150 has almost 200,000 miles on it, so I'm basically just waiting until both my boys are done needing car-seats before I decide what to get. A Bumblebee Camaro is looking pretty tempting at this point, unless I can get my hands on another '85 ZX. (I *may* have a thing for Camaros...this is reverse-hand-painted on glass with 23k gold leaf..I made it "back in the day" - pardon the craptastic photo.)

Really, "rice burners" didn't stand a chance against a mid-80's 300ZX? Even back then some of those "rice burners" did 0-60 in just over 3 secs. :cyclops:
The Isuzu Amigo from '99 was beating 'Stangs off the line? The Amigo had a 3.2 liter V-6, and it's top 0-60 was 8.7 seconds. The Mustang GT from that year had a 0-60 of 5.4 seconds. Even my '85 'Stang had a 0-60 time of 6.4 secs. Off the line for a few feet maybe, because of rear end ratio and higher torgue. Outdriving 'Vettes in a '79 F-body boat Camaro Berlinetta with a 305 c.i. late-70's smog motor... :cyclops:

Sorry, but, pretty sure there's a lot of Bravo Sierra in your post...!!!!! :hilarious: ;)

Oh that's heartbreaking. I don't think you ever get the image out of your head, either. And we've had three near misses ourselves this week and it just sets me right back in that moment. I don't know if it's just that I'm more sensitive since seeing it, or if it really is a bad traffic week, but I keep seeing people being so reckless! Today, I picked up DS from school, we were biking home and the SAME INTERSECTION, a teenage girl on a bike just went right in front of a car...earphones in, the car slammed on the brakes and honked and she didn't even look at him...like she didn't even notice she had just about been run over! I don't know if her music was so loud that she didn't hear the honk or what. But there were like 6 other people on bikes at the intersection who DID stop...how did she not see the car coming? It's a terrible intersection....it needs a light or something. I HATE that place, and I have to go by it whenever I go shopping, pick DS up from school, or take DD to Musical Theater class, or when I go to the doctor, as it's right in front of the doctor's office. It's right by the city center, so it's extremely busy.

Yep, it happened in late '78. That whole intersection is now freeway, flyovers and shopping centers.
But, I'll remember that night like it happened yesterday for the rest of my life.

I just returned from my echocardiogram appointment. They didn't ask me for any money, or a copayment. That surprised me. The test was relatively pain fee, although those horrible examining tables are always so hard, and uncomfortable. The machine made my heart sound like it was underwater, or I guess it could be compared to someone taking one of those thin ceiling panels out, and it makes that weird noise as it bends in all directions. Now I wait while my doctor gets the results read. Since she isn't a cardiologist I assume she will look at it herself, but the cardiologist she has referred me to will do the actual reading. Crossing my fingers there's nothing too bad wrong with me.
Sending prayers and pixie dust

My ds' band has been chosen to play at a veteran's day function and instead of uniforms they have to wear kakhis sp? and a plain Tshirt(red, white or blue depending on what they were assigned) joy my ds has the shirt but not the right colored pants:mad::mad::mad: at least I can grab a pair without him. somewhat better news my dh is working Friday and my older ds won't be home either. Maybe I'll get an actual holiday??????? that is unless I get called in Friday

@donaldtoo , I was watching a news report this morning about the Boeing 747 -- it's retiring -- taking its last few commercial flights over the next couple of weeks. (They're still good for cargo planes though (front loading), so it's expected that the company will continue to make these.) Also, AF1 is not retiring, but the rest of all commercial 747's are.

And let's not forget the piano lounges from the 70s (before they retrofitted these little gems with more regular passenger seats  ) --
