on that note I'm glad Disney is finally going to allow pups but I wish they had put aside dedicated rooms for them

I agree! That is how it is handled at Universal Florida. Not only certain rooms but down one wing, separate building used it works well most of the time. Then again I've had a few times in Disney Resort rooms were one would have thought Animals lived in there and also screaming drunk people, horrible sports groups acting up all night...so I'm thinking the animals are less of a problem than some of the human guests.

I don't know what it is about Disney that makes people think it's okay for manners and behavior to go out the window...

DD had a few groaners to add here:

A termite walks into the bar and asks "Is the bar tender here?"

I asked a Frenchman if he played video games. He said Wii.
What do you call a camel with no humps?
Humpfree.

What did one plate say to the other?
Dinner's on me.

What do sea monsters eat?
Fish and ships

What do you call a sleeping dinosaur?
A dinosnore

Playing Ketchup. Yesterday was a big huge craft fair and I took DD to it. We had a great time and I needed it. Friday was a sucky day. I pulled a stupid...DS's new school is awesome, but they have a different schedule that I'm not used to yet. Wednesdays and Fridays are half days, and for some reason I had 12 in my head instead of 12:30. So I left my house at 11:20 so I would get there about 10 minutes to 12. I get halfway there and I realize my mistake and normally I bring a book with me so I have something to do while I wait, but since I thought I was only going to be there 10 minutes early, I didn't bother. So I'm right by the city center, berating myself for the mistake and thinking where I should go for that half hour, and a woman on a bike turned right in front of a car...I didn't see her at all until she flew over the hood of the car. I actually thought it was a kid because I thought what I saw flying over the car was a backpack...but it was the woman. I called an ambulance and I wasn't the only one, or even the first, but someone was doing CPR and someone else jumped into the street to direct traffic...there must have been about 20 other people who saw it. And then the ambulance came...well, actually 3 or 4 showed up, and they called for an airlift. They ended up canceling the airlift...it was too late. My husband had to come home from work to pick DS up from school. I was SOOOOO glad it wasn't on the way BACK, that HE didn't witness that. When I got home, I was still so shaky I ended up pouring myself a large shot. I hardly ever drink, but that called for some booze. The policeman I gave my statement to was really nice, though. He asked me how I was handling it and told me to ask my doctor for help if I needed someone to talk to. Really nice guy. So that was my Friday. Well, and I worked, but at least that was a good distraction.

Sympathy like.
Love the groaners , but, so sorry you had to witness that accident.
When I worked at the Go-kart track for my first job in HS there was an accident on the road out in front. We had no customers at the time, so we were watching the cleanup and the police directing traffic. All of a sudden, this car comes speeding up the lane while the officer had his back turned. We were agast. Smacked right into him, threw him about 40 ft., and he landed directly behind an ambulance. Pure Chaos after that...
The guy stopped his car, the female officer that was standing near the officer when he was hit, drew her weapon and ran over, yelling at the driver that if he moved she would shoot to kill.
It was insane. Turns out, the guy was not impaired, he was just confused...how, I have no clue. We let him use our shop phone to call a friend and he was a mess.
Unfortunately, the officer never regained consciousness and died 3 days later, 3 days before Christmas. Even more sad, he had a wife and 3 young kiddos. :(

We met a family with three service dogs at Beach Club several years ago. One of the dogs was an alert animal to alert of a diabetic emergency, and the other two were asthma alert dogs (which I had never heard of before, but considering Belle will do the same thing for me, I don't doubt it), one was almost retired and was training the younger one. The dogs were more well-behaved than a lot of guests. I even petted one of them, and I'm not a dog person. Those owners were also very wise; they only went to the parks at night when it wasn't too hot for the dogs.

Speaking of Belle, this morning I was having asthma symptoms, and she would not leave until I woke up and used my nebulizer. After I used it, she went and ate and used her litter box. Jasmine is also starting to be aware of me not feeling good; I also had a migraine (yeah, pretty much a mess today) and she came tried to make me feel better, then took a nap with me. :inlove:

Is that weird to get tornado warnings on november?

But then we are having weird weather ourselves too.
We are not supposed to get rains anymore until late december or january. and forecast says there is going to be rain the entire week.
and temps dropping a bit.

As for me, wish me luck. Leaving in 2 days to Mexico city to see the broadway show of THE LION KING and other things.
Have a fun and safe trip!
Love the sound of y'all's church craft fair! :)

Hahaaa...!
Nah! Between Walmart, Target, and our Texas-based HEB Superstores, we've been buyin' underwear and food in the same places for decades...! ;) :)

I had a 1985 300zx that did that!!!

EDIT: Favorite car EVER. I miss that thing.

Oh my! Cool car (as a side note, I had an '85 Mustang GT that I loved too...!!! :)), but, we used to call them "Burn Mobiles". The preferred engine was the 3 liter V-6. They also put them in their trucks, and they were transverse mounted in their front drive Maximas. They had their oil filters mounted directly underneath the exhaust manifold up against the right wheel well on their ZXs and trucks, and up against the firewall in the Maximas. It was a tight fit, and you couldn't reach from below because of a frame member, and the manifold "heat shield" was worthless. You just rolled down your shirt sleeve, stuffed a coupla' shop rags in your sleeve, and hoped for the best.
Needless to say, sometimes things slipped in the process...the first thing you'd hear was a quick sizzle from your sweaty arm skin when it contacted the manifold, and prepared yourself for the pain. :in pain:
I had burn scars on my arms for a good decade after I quit working there...!!!!! :hilarious:

Sounds like a fun trip. I have seen travel shows about Mexico City and it looks really interesting. And I have seen the Lion King Broadway show twice. It is great, you'll like it. Fun fact: Before the Lion King premiered on Broadway it went through its practices and whatnot in Minneapolis so I was able to see it then. It was cool seeing a show before the big debut on Broadway.

I've owned many, many cars and trucks, and my two faves were the 300zx (two-seater, five-in-the-floor, t-tops) and my 1979 Camaro Berlinetta. It only had the 305 in it, but that thing still kicked some major butt and I worked on it myself a lot of the time. I was too scared to do that with the Nissan.

So did the hubs lead his services by sitting in a recliner on the alter? :geek:

Today's service was the Men's Choir concert. Hubs is a part of that he plays his ukulele in it, the band is quite good. So he was able to sit for most of the service, the guys found him a chair to prop his leg on. It was also the annual potato pancake meal so hubs stayed for that. He was pretty tired when he came home and the ankle was more swollen than when I took him to work.

I ended up skipping church. I did a full cleaning of the house, tackled Mount Laundry, and packed away some stuff in the living room to get ready for some Christmas decorations.

Yikes. I don't care if people want to put up lights and keep them up for a long time. I might think it looks odd after the holidays, but I can't say it "bothers" me. There are no such ordinances out here where I live, and I don't even live in New Hampshire--whose motto is, "Live Free or Die"

Our town really didn't want to do ordinances for all this. We had a few that were that were not just lets leave it up a bit longer it was lets light our house up for Christmas on Easter. One lady championed it, she was trying to sell her home and the neighbor had Christmas lights shining. The town actually encourages lighting for the season, they sponsor a contest. Our town is lit with tiny white lights and our carriage lights are Bowed.

In my little Hamlet We can only have one commercial vehicle in our driveway up to the size of a large van. Snowmobiles can be on drive from November until April. Campers/motorhomes, boats, jet ski's March until November. You can get a free permit to bring them back for 2 days coming and 2 days returning like if you take the camper out of storage to go to Florida at Christmas so you can load and unload it so there is leadway and understanding. Trash cans can't go out until 4pm and must be stored behind the home and be there by 10pm. Flood lights (I have 4) can only shine on your own property, mine are on the back of the property so I could see if critters were out there before I let dogs out.

And then there is a mega list of things that can't touch public property from mini bikes to motor razor scooters or little kid battery operated cars. I laughed when when of my DD friends who has always been in a wheelchair most hours of the day. She got a Barbie motorized battery car to give her some freedom. Yep hers could be on the sidewalk as it became ADA compliant! Woot! I live in a very unique little hamlet.

I wish we had swans but my lake my be a bit redneck for them:( We have ducks, geese, heron and a pair of nesting bald eagles which means we also have assorted fish and game people

Our swans evict the geese. They let the ducks stay and the ducks stay of their way. Walt use to chase the geese they'd fly, land in the pond and the swans would get after them and make them leave. Walt loved to chase the geese. He didn't like the swans and they hissed at him, he kept his distance. We use to keep the Swans year round but the town had to keep the pond ice free or enough water for the swans. The Swans now go to Swan Camp (really) from November until April.

A lot of people don't realize that swans can be very dangerous if they're protecting their young. A mating pair could (not easily) kill an adult.

Ahhh . . . I can't even imagine First Class back in the 80s :inlove:. I'll bet your received some really good meals, etc.

The meals were much better than coach and free adult beverages. Even the snacks were better. But there was a dress code for us flying comp'd. Coach I had to be in dress clothes. First Class I'd have a better shot in a dress or a business suit. We'd watch the flights to see which ones we'd have a better shot flying out on and coming back you needed to plan to make sure you could actually get back.

Just got back from Thor Ragnarog..

It was HILARIOUS.

No seriously, it was as fun as the first Guardians of the Galaxy.
So much nosense, hilarious interactions, but also some ridiculous cameos that I was like.. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

They not only have 1 cameo, but 3 cameos of A+ rated stars..
First we got Luke Hemsworth (brother of Chris who does Thor)
Then.. MATT DAMON!!!
And to make things more ridiculous.. SAM NEIL portraits as a "other" Odin. :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:

Can somebody please make a gif of Thumper laughing after Bambi calls Flower the Skunk a "Flower". Especially where he started laughing so hard he falls on his back. Along with Flower getting flattered after Bambi calls him pretty. Maybe post them in this thread for future use. :)
