@donaldtoo , what day is Veterans Day observed in your area? I know that quite a few places observe this Saturday (which is the official date, Nov. 11), but some places also choose to observe it this Friday (I'm not sure if that's federal holiday, because Veterans Day falls on a Saturday this year). So I was just curious what day they observed down South.
I think it is observed Friday nationwide.

It's the 11th here, as well. All agencies closed.
But, our office manager mentioned in our Monday morning meeting today that Friday is a bank holiday...did a quick search, but, didn't find any info on how that might relate... :cyclops:

As the parent of 2 kids on the spectrum who has had those kinds of parents up to her eyeballs...I can't love this post enough!!!!!!

EDIT: My oldest now despises school because of bullying from the kids of these horrible people, and one actually had the cajones to hold her pointer finger up at me while I was waiting for her and her friend to be done chit-chatting so they would move their cars so I could drop my kid off for school 1st thing in the morning. People like the ones we've both described are what is wrong with the world.

Sympathy like.
Our middle child (DS who was born 1lb. 4oz., and is now 25) is on the autism spectrum and has also been diagnosed with Asperger's.
He's highly functional compared to many, but, he has major issues with time and space. And although he can read like a maniac, he still has major issues with math, etc.
When you first met him you probably wouldn't notice right away. But, as the conversation went on you would notice the difference.
He had special curriculums from pre-K all the way through HS.
Fortunately, the teachers, and the vast majority of the students didn't put up with bullying. The teachers were really on top of it. He, and none of the other special needs kiddos ever suffered any major bullying, that I know of, anyway.
Actually, at one point in HS our youngest DD was actually being pretty severely bullied, until she finally came to her mother and I, and I put an immediate stop to that.

So very sorry to hear about your child having to endure that.
Crazy parents and the crazy offspring they produce...
Prayers to all of y'all.

Thank you. :)
He does great socially until he starts talking about his favorite videos and video game characters, then he loses the other kids because he's so hyper focused and detail oriented that he can name every official version, every fan version, etc. etc. Funny thing is that whenever we go anywhere as a family for fun, he always makes friends to hang out with and they have a blast. I think between disliking school in general and feeling bored (his brain works so fast sometimes it's scary) that his brain just reverts back to the standby favorites. It certainly doesn't help that we're basically trapped inside for a good part of the year because he has intermittent asthma and the cold air gives him pneumonia, so he ends up spending a lot of time on games and junk. We're working on moving to warmer climates in the not-too-distant future.
Funny...my son is a math and tech wiz and can talk your ear off, but has a super hard time expressing himself in writing. We're hopeful that the recent decision to let him use speech-to-text will help.

He's doing much better and not miserable at school this year (so far), so hopefully the horribleness is in the past.

Good news for people buying laptops in the next years.
Intel ate their own ego and decided to integrate their tech with AMD graphics (Radeon).
Which will make use of intel cpus (very good) and AMD gpus (very good) in a single interconnected package (less power, less space, less heat)

Seems both of them declared war on Nvidia. (the dominant graphics tech right now)

They didn't tell me how long it would be before I heard back about my test results. I guess that depends on my primary doctor. When I have blood tests, I always get a written report. Not expecting a written report, but my doctor is good about calling when something major happens. I have decided not to worry until/unless something to worry about happens.

Is that weird to get tornado warnings on november?

But then we are having weird weather ourselves too.
We are not supposed to get rains anymore until late december or january. and forecast says there is going to be rain the entire week.
and temps dropping a bit.

As for me, wish me luck. Leaving in 2 days to Mexico city to see the broadway show of THE LION KING and other things.

Awesome!!!!! :joyfull: Have fun, Cesar...!!! :)
