Both drawings are exquisite. I'm in awe of this one in particular, with the various transportation levels. Can you imagine if they ever really built this? WOW!

Yep, it all makes perfect sense to me. Especailly with so many cities these days having pedestrian, automobile, commercial trucks, light rail, etc., traffic all tangling together on the same street level.
And, even as cost prohibitive as that infrastructure may have been deemed at the time, it sure as heck would be A LOT more expensive to retrofit existing cities now. Maybe if more folks were a little less short-sighted. But, that seems to be the nature of most of us human beings.
Utopian indeed, but, nonetheless, the transportation aspect of the original EPCOT plans makes so much sense, to me anyway.

I was thinking that there might be a problem with recording the professor with him knowing too. I would suggest telling the professor that the recording is going to happen. @StarWarsGirl95 could always just say she wants to listen to it later, which wouldn't be a fib, and then record a few class periods.

I've sat on our policy committee for years. Words are chosen by attorney's carefully. Boards, administrators, unions all have their say as a policy is crafted. They are all looking for loop holes not to get caught up in. My fear in all this is that she may loose the support of the deans if she goes beyond the personal use and uses it as evidence against a staff member. Student ethics generally state that they follow policy and if the policy states for only personal use and uses it instead as evidence the staff could call for her to be expelled for breaking policy.
He could get a slap on the wrist, she could loose a scholarship or get expelled if they pushed it.

My opinion when you already have the the deans on your side don't mess it up for them by breaking policy, do only what they asked you to do to demonstrate the unprofessional behavior. If it was ethical to record and share with administration the deans would have likely suggested it.

We are in that mess in Northern IL now, very short sighted. They did retrofit an expressway and put a light rail up the middle from Downtown Chicago to OHare however they never did for cost from the West into Ohare/DownTown Chicago. They are massively expanding the West Highway from the West now into Chicago adding many lanes but still they didn't push the light rail with the expansion. If they put the freak'n light rail in from the West through Ohare and to DownTown Chi they wouldn't need all the extra lanes for cars.

I go both ways with Walt's concept of EPCOT and DTD. While beyond imaginative it was kinda creepity. Between the whole Reedy Creek governmental body if one can really call that a governmental body, his idea of living quarters, shopping, transportation etc it was kinda creepity to me how he wanted to build his own little country that he had total control of and the people he employed and where they resided. He was an impressive imagineer and I admire that but I am also a bit unnerved how he wanted to create a world that he wanted total control over every aspect beyond a mega tourist attraction.

As much as I'd love to live in Celebration even as dumb down as it has become legally it didn't materialize the way Disney presented it to be ultimately. It didn't seem to even be able to thwart the local schools system. I wasn't surprised how Disney backed off its involvement in that enterprise. Still an amazing community but not exactly the Disney Community it was originally conceived to be. I am waiting to see what the Oaks ultimately wind up becoming someday.

Do you have any idea how delicious that looks right about now? For dinner, I just had a bowl of cinnamon toast crunch cereal, and then I saw this . . . no comparison!!!

You do seem to have your meals in a stereotypical way mixed up. What do you eat for breakfast?

Quite a few years ago, chains could be used in MA during really inclement weather. Eventually, they outlawed those. Then the studded tires came in and they were very good, but they tore up the roads. Those were outlawed at some point, too. Most people now use the all season tires. If I had extra money, I'd get snow tires, but the all season tires usually work well.

I agree. My tires do better in snow but I'm not fond of them in rain. It has been a long time since we could have chains or studded tires. They were better on concrete but tend to tear up asphalt. I had snow tires for my Mustang. They were necessary with that car here.

Good for you! That is the most powerful form of advertising. Quite often, the most talented people never advertise, because they don't have to. Their reputation for quality goods or services is golden.

Reminds me of my father, years ago. He was a town meeting member (an elected position), and the group met once a month or more, if something important needed to be voted on. Whenever elections would come up, he did nothing and always got voted in, because of his solid reputation and business expertise. There would be others who'd spent money on these local campaigns, send out mailers, hang up signs in store windows, etc., and my father never spent one penny!

I can sure speak to that. It is very difficult for anyone to be elected these days without money backing or someone of position helping them become seated. When I first ran for our BOE I was pulled aside by a member and frankly told that even though I filed my petitions I would never be elected because that wasn't how things worked. It took about $500 for me to be elected to my non paid position but it did it. I did it for my DD future being an IEP and Gifted which clashed in instruction but it was a difficult fight of an election. I was told they would run as party of incumbents against me. (Sad cause it is supposed to be about the kids not us) Fortunately I was not bullied and knew that was not legal in school elections and told him so, he had that deer in the headlights look on his face. The twit got back on the board but I beat him in votes. Funny cause he doesn't put his kids in public schools, his kids are in one of those strict religious schools, no music, no dancing, kneel on floor and skirt much touch the floor schools. We rarely agree about anything.

I agree.. she could have asked the Dean for permission to film.

So I went to talk to the associate dean today about my Finance professor. I wasn't the first student concerned about grades, but I was the first to bring to her attention the fact that my professor has been unprofessional. When I told her what he had said about us being the dumbest group of college students he had ever taught, she was completely horrified. Then she called in the Dean of the business school and had me repeat what I had just told her to him. She said that was very serious. So now I'm going to have to talk to my classmates and she said any unprofessional behavior from him should be reported. I think I'm going to record his next lecture so that she can see. She asked me if what she observed the day that she visited our class was different from his usual behavior, and I said yes, and she said multiple people had told her that.

As for grades, she said there's nothing she can do about it for now, but if I don't like my grade, I can submit an appeal, and she said if she receives enough, she'll raise the grades for the class.

The Dean was super nice though. I had met him in group settings, like during orientation, but had never personally spoke with him. He asked me what grade I was currently getting in the class and what my GPA was. When I told him 3.8, he smiled and said, "Is that all? What were you doing, slacking off, that you couldn't do better?" He thanked the associate dean for introducing me to him. He said he likes meeting the school's best and brightest. Made my morning.

I'm sorry. We shared. The winds have not stopped either but the sun did come out. Starting tomorrow night they are calling for anywhere between 4-11 inches of snow by Saturday morning. Makes me want to import @MinnieM123 for shoveling duty.
