I used to be able to sleep through anything, but no more. Not since becoming a mommy.
Yes, kids change everything. I went to bottle feeding at 2 A.M. To letting two different doggies out, for 20+ years (they came in succession ). And now I'm still waking up with Hot Sweats at 2 or 3 AM. It's never ending. If my house weren't so cold at night...I would be up on here. (hot sweats are followed by cold chills) Oh, the joy's of life!:p

That's how it is at my work, too. I'm definitely not chained to my desk, which is one of the main reasons why I've stayed for 15 years.

It was great when DD was in preschool because we could take vacations during non-peak periods (i.e., not summer or Christmas break). Now that she's in school, we'll be traveling along with everyone else. :banghead:
That is a shocker to be sure. :grumpy:

Oh, thanks for letting me know! I had only heard it was for spouses, but I'll definitely check out the parent one, too.
Yeah, if you click on the start thing, it gives you the option for yourself or for your child and then you pick the age group of your child and it tells you how to do it. My son is a bit young yet, so he can't do the actual profile thing, but it gives you suggestions on how to figure it out with younger children.

The one thing that I do differently is that I LOVE my sit down breakfasts and dinners at Disney. I like a good balanced breakfast to start my day before all of the walking. As for dinner- some of my favorite restaurants that I've ever been to are at Disney. I think about those meals constantly between trips. We do a long, sit down dinner every night.
Our favorites are breakfast, I like a second cup of coffee on vacation. Gives me needed energy to walk all those steps, and I love eggs and bacon with a bread product for breakfast. My Mom said "It's the most important meal of the day". I tend to agree, if I start out with carbs, even oatmeal....it's down the rest of the day.

Do you have regulations about that where you live? I know where I was in the States, there was no rule about it...parents took kids out for vacations all the time. But over here, you get fined if the kids miss a day when they weren't sick if you don't get permission, and you only get permission for special things like death of an immediate family member, or a big anniversary...over here,12.5 years is the first big anniversary. (10 is nothing) So we got the kids out for 2 days and had a long weekend for our 12.5 year anniversary.

I'd love an old treadle machine! My grandmother had one, why she donated it to the church rummage sale I'll never know. I know they were down sizing but I would have gladly found room for it in my room!!!!!!!!!!!
My mother had an old Singer one...when she died, my brother got it because my aunt had given me her old treadle-foot machine, though it was broken (still is, but I do HAVE it.) A few weeks later, I saw my mom's at the pawn shop...it broke my heart that he pawned it.
