Oh and I went back to the doctor today about my hand (for the newbees, I tore a ligament in my thumb and had surgery about five weeks ago). Doctor sent me in for an x-ray, which I thought was odd, but I went with it. Doctor came in to see me and asked how I was feeling. Honestly, I've been feeling good, so that's what I told him. He pressed over the incision on the top of my hand and asked if it hurt. It's mostly numb there, but it hurt a bit. Apparently, when they went in there, it cracked the bone a little bit there. Which explains why I haven't been able to move my index finger properly (same bone). He said it should heel on its own, but I have to go back in in two weeks for another x-ray just to be sure. In the meantime, no sports, no heavy lifting. I should be playing piano as therapy though, he said, an the thumb itself is heeling nicely.

On the plus side, this means no dishes yet...and now I can say I've had a broken bone.
Congratulations !?!
Seriously though..... I'm glad that it's healing well and that you're continuing to improve :)

I don't get time to cook dinner at home as often as I probably should so we eat in restaurants on a regular basis anyway. My girls are just used to it I guess. My husband is a stickler on table manners so they know what's expected at meal time regardless of where we are.
We took our daughter to restaurants, even fast food to show her manners. DD has done the same with ADR'S at Disney. For the Grandson's.

A nurse was telling me that with some of the cardiac patients, if they really want coffee, food service will bring up a cup of half decaf/half regular coffee for them. Just as any other big change in life or in eating habits, small changes over an extended period of time, tend to render more consistent results.
You're absolutely right about small changes being more likely to lead to long term results. I've said before that I make the mistake of leaping too far too fast all of the time and then things just don't stick. I did end up making it through yesterday and today so far without any caffeine, but I'll admit I feel really "off" this afternoon.

I stayed there back in February 2013. It was only for two nights, but it was a great hotel. Didn't use the pool, but it is probably the best on property besides the water parks (which I've also never been to).
I'm really looking forward to staying at Yacht Club with the exception that I've heard they've started a refurbishment. I really hope we won't be annoyed by it.

My boys are really good about eating at restaurants anywhere but Disney:banghead::banghead::banghead: Teenagers:eek::eek::eek::eek: They have a way of using their good manners while still annoying the heck out of us, one place the waitress even commented on how well behaved they were:cautious:

I have done the same thing with riding my bike, it set me back for a few days, but I'm doing like hubby , one minute more every other day. When it starts to cause trouble, then I'll back off for a few days.

I think it's really important for everyone to know how to behave at the table. It's important to be thankful that we have food in the first place and good manners while eating show a certain respect for what we have. Also- eating a nice meal together is a perfect social activity. For a family it can be a true bonding experience because it's an opportunity to sit and share the events of the day with one another.

That's a very sensible approach, especially with exercise. I'm constantly pulling muscles because I do too much. I'll start something new (or restart something old) and it feels good and I see a bit of result so then I end up going hog wild and end up hurt and have to stop again.
