Yep, I got through the first few chapters of one of those Mommy to Be books and my DH was wide eyed as I got up walked to the kitchen trash can and chucked the thing in the garbage. Too many are written as if the audience they are targeting struggles for a double-digit IQ score. The added insult is they believe they are the disciples of the best practices.

I loved my OB she was great. Very positive woman. Then by 7.5 month I had gained half my body weight and she wasn't amused and sternly warned I wouldn't be able to drop that kinda weight. I told her I was hungry. Being short and starting out under 100# I didn't have anything in reserve. I gave birth to a 9# 22 1/2" long big block head of a boy. Biggest kid in the nursery. I was in the hospital 5 nights and when I left I came home in my normal people clothing, no sweats or prego clothing. By my six week check up I was in my pre pregnancy clothes and back to my pre pregnancy weight. So even the Docs you genuinely love and respect can be off target too. Pregnancy has its mysteries that just remain unexplained.
My daughter was 9 lb 4 oz 21.5 inches when she was born...also the biggest in the nursery, with a HUGE head, I might add. It was hard getting shirts over her head. But the funniest thing was the woman next to me had given birth several weeks early, so her son was only like 5 lbs....he was HALF the size of my daughter, so even though he was older, DD looked like she was months older than him. But I did the same...I was back in my pre-preg clothes a week after giving birth. I only gained 9 lbs with DD and I lost weight with DS because I was so sick, so I ended up weighing LESS after giving birth than I weighed before I got preg. And my OB swore DS was going to be bigger than his sister and I kept saying no, he was smaller, I could just tell...and I was right. He was only 8.5 lb and the same length.

@Nick Wilde, I noticed the remix of that song has some dub step in it. Do you like that kind of music? If so, have you heard of Skrillex?

Although I also find it interesting that the YouTube link in your signature line is of a Rick Astley song. Who would have ever thought that huge voice came out of that skinny little guy? Or that his video would get over 151 million hits??? :D
Yes, I have heard of Skrillex. I used to like that music, but now I'm into other stuff. The Rick Astley song in my signature is a reference to an old internet joke, where people would click on a link expecting it to be, let's say The Force Awakens leaked full movie, but the link would take them to that song, and that was called rickrolling. It's a harmless "gotchya" joke.

I don't know if this would ever appeal to you, but since you love dogs and cats so much, there may be shelters in your area that might need some volunteer assistance. I knew a woman who used to go to the shelter twice a week and walk the dogs, on a leash, around their fenced-in area behind the shelter. She felt like she was visiting friends, and it filled a void for her at that time. She told me about a gentleman who was devastated by the loss of his dog; and he would go to the shelter each week and bring treats for all the dogs in there. Just being around dogs helped him through his grief, and he was helping the animals and the shelter staff by visiting, too.
What a wonderful idea. We have an animal boarding place near us, I don't know if they take volunteers, as it's a fancy high priced shelter. The other's are over 30 miles from us.
