Well, upon further examination, a stint has now turned into a quadruple bypass for my pop. Major blockage.
Surgery is scheduled for 7:30a tomorrow morning.

Oh, that was not the news you expected to hear. If this helps at all, my aunt had quadruple bypass, and lived another 20 years after that. I will pray for him and your family, for everything to be alright.

Oh, not at all. Getting to know you for a few years here, I would never think that, as you're a very kind person. You also have a sense of humor, and your response was just about exactly what I expected you'd write!

That may usually be the case but the women in our family live into their 90s, I think it's the Scots-Irish stubbornness to give in.

@betty rose is out in Colorado, so she might have to adjust for high altitude cooking times. My MIL lives in the Rockies and always has to adjust everything for high altitude cooking! I think that's kinda cool!

Me too!! (But as a side note, you and I also work a regular job 5 days a week, commute, etc., and that definitely saps some of our physical and creative energy, so it's hard for us to fit in the extra nice things that she does at her home and outdoors, too. Not that she has it easy by any means, with taking care of her family, and she does a great job.)

I don't know if you have ever seen the old movie, It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World, where in the first scene Jimmy Durante is dying by the roadside and when he does, his leg stretches out and then "kicks a bucket", down the hill. My mother always said that was how she was going to go. She fought aging with every bit of her being, but, Pulmonary Fibrosis finally did her in at age 87. When she passed we were all there in the room and the very thing she did right after she passed was to kick her right leg straight out. Had there been a bucket there she would have kicked it. She always did have a good sense of humor.

Yes! I have seen that movie and it was in CINERAMA! When I was a young kid, my mother took us all to see it at this huge theater in Boston. It was quite the experience, and I loved the movie!! I've seen it repeated a few times on tv over the years, but there's nothing to compare to that first viewing in Cinerama in a big city theater. I'll never forget it!

SIL likes home holidays. I would go out in a heartbeat, if I could talk everyone into it. One thing we do though, is have Jammie day for Christmas and Thanksgiving. Much more relaxed, and with my elastic sleep pants, I can eat more.!

We do comfy clothes now for holidays too, everyone has more fun that way. For Christmas the pj's have to be Christmas themed though.

Thanks , I'm so excited! I'm doing Tower of Terror, only for the second time. Last trip was my first time, and it was so much fun!

Oh my only the second time! You've been missing out on a ton of fun. It is one of my favorites.

When I was a kid I used to be afraid of Big Thunder Mountain, my mom would sit out with me while my dad and sister rode it. I finally got up enough courage to ride it and my mom finally got to ride it as well. When we got off of it for the first time we kind of looked at each other and we knew that we had been missing out because I'd been a chicken!

I'm not even Catholic and I love this Pope! I love that he leads by example...he doesn't just tell you to take in refugees, he does it himself. And he does everything low key and low budget....he just LIVES the Bible instead of just preaching it. I think he's amazing and people from all walks of life like him. One of my Muslim friends posted today how much he likes the Pope and wished they had a similar leader for Islam. He just reaches where other Popes never bothered.

I also like that he said that dogs (and I'm assuming he meant other animals too) will go to heaven. That's an idea I like!

He said if they were gonna' clean him out anyway and check for more he was gonna' enjoy the next coupla' days. He's not a guy that wants to leave the earth any sooner than he has to, and will make adjustments to a point as he feels warranted, but, with the long, productive gift of life he's so thankful, and feels so blessed for at almost 83, he's also a pragmatist.

Being Pragmatic is a good mindset to go into this with, that will has gotten many through some rough patches. I've always been very pragmatic---my Dad not at all, I attribute that all to my Mom.
