We usually go to the mountains a couple times once, on hubby's Birthday. Then on mine. We hike and do outdoor things, on the first day. Spend the night at the Casino Hotel, hubby likes to play the slots. I like the buffet. In the mountains most hotels are pretty moldy, but this hotel was built by Hilton, and has a very good filtering system. I acutally do better there.:joyfull:

Goodness, it seems I made a censoring faux pas...I didn't know spelling out someone's name, would get censored. Does no one check before they censor?
It's an automatic censor. Certain words are queued into the computer and when they show up it automatically gets blocked out. It's a shame that one of the biggest stars in a Disney live action movie cannot be displayed unless you do it around the system, which in this case, I think is totally justified. So now it is D ick Van D yke.

I don't think the different experiences are specific to Sci-Fi even though we have stopped going there, better food elsewhere in the World.
I found Via Napole to be hit or miss now, LeCellier the same. Me, Tony's seems to get worse and Melrose became hit or miss just like
San Angels Inn. Coral was great then bad and my last few trips after many years of not going I love it again. Sometimes I think it really has to do with both the management and individual chef with their own standards. I loved Cali grill for years and when the Chef bolted several years later he landed at a fine new restaurant in Northern IL. It was like going Home just not $150 a head. Win Win
Oh, I never knew that! Which restaurant?

Thanks for the information, I didn't even think of the "other" meaning, when I posted. I have a lot to learn about posting.;)

We've never hopped as a family before. My older ds does not handle busses well at all. On our first trip as a family he almost had a total meltdown on one so we avoided them like the plague! Last trip the monorail was down and we had to take a bus to the TTC, he was ok not great but ok. Considering how late and crowded it was he did very well. So this summer we spent some time practicing taking the bus. He did well and even had to stand a few times. We'll keep practicing at least once a month from here out. He wants to try hopping for the EMH, so we're going to give it a try. I think for three days he can handle the hopping and if they keep the EMH on the same days we'll only need to take 3 busses. Fingers crossed as we have hoppers.
Sounds like you are doing a great job of preparing him. Hope it works out. If it doesn't work out the way you hoped, I have a suggestion, and it works with your " slower than usual" pace idea. Go in the morning, head back to the condo and use the pool. Go to EMH park later. All by car, don't have to worry about the bus.

image.jpg And back. A scary trip home. Rain that you couldn't see two feet in front of car. Nothing like driving 2 mph in a 70 mph zone

Trip was nice. New hotel excellent. Food good. My DD needed this trip.
Fun we had.

Jealous of the things to do in central Illinois?

Good morning all. We had a nice time in the mountains, celebrating husbands birthday. He is now 67, same as me. We stayed at a casino hotel, the Ameristar. It's was a really nice hotel. Had great food, and a great location. I forgot my camera, so I didn't get any pictures. We had perfect temp, high 72 and low around 52. Bright and sunny!:joyfull:

So happy to hear that you and hubby had a wonderful time for his birthday celebration weekend.

I'm having the problem with jerky moments on this sight, and unable to post likes, or having to type really slow? Has anyone reported these problem? And did it improve? I read that not everyone is having this issue. Just wondering before I post.

If you go up to the Forum Help and Announcements forum, (which is located just above the News and Rumors threads) the moderator has asked that people post their problems there. Today he requested that a separate post be made for each specific issue, so don't tag along your post at the end of someone else's. I did that (by error this morning--I thought that was what I was supposed to do, but they locked the thread after that).

Then we were told to just post individual problem threads, and that would make it easier for the moderator to try and fix individual problems people are having. Feel free to post your issue up there.
