Now I'm wondering if I should replace B&C with Ragland Road or Whispering Canyon

I'm not as wild about B&C or the hoops you have to go through to eat there these days, I find meals a bit over rated but that is just me. Ragland I can take or leave, if I am over there it is perfectly fine. Now the food at Whispering is great for family style. My only caution is like Prime Time, is the family is up for that type of on the spot involvement during a meal. When my kids were young they loved it, those pre-teen year/teen years not so much. In a heartbeat I'd go for the quality of food of Whispering over B&C.

I woke to down pouring rain this morning...highway to other end of town I couldn't freak'n see where I was going and people were flying by going 70. Crazies. It broke after lunch, amen. Did it rain there a lot today? How is the hand feeling? Any better?
Poured for about 40 minutes straight at DHS today. Because of the rain, we weren't able to do a lot. Thank goodness for DAs or my brother would have had a conniption. We are going again Tuesday. We weren't planning on it, but we're switching resorts and were planning on doing Epcot, but went there yesterday and did not plan for that, so we'll do DHS for the day then and go to Epcot for dinner.

Hand has been unbelievably sore the past few days. I have another appointment the Wednesday we get back, so I will ask the doctor about an MRI. He says the ligament is partially torn, But could still require surgery. The fact that if I tug it, it comes out of the socket, worries me. Not that I'm tugging on it a lot, but I tried gently tugging it yesterday, and it came out a bit.

It is amazing how much I have to think about my thumb. It also takes me longer to do a lot of stiff, including getting dressed, washing my hands, etc. I can't get lunch by the pool for my entire family like I used to. I simply can't carry the food plus three refillable mugs My dad goes with me and helps. No one trusts him to go on his own and get the order right. I guess we'll have to alternate between me and my dad getting food and my mom getting it.

In spite of staying at BC for years, I have not been to Beaches and Cream in years. Getting ice cream is a complicated process with the food allergies. They don't use separate scoopers in the strawberry and vanilla ice cream, so there's a lot of cross contamination. I go to Beach Club Marketplace for dessert. I thought about taking my brother there, but he won't eat anything off of their menu.

They should move the arcade and make Beaches and Cream bigger with that space.

We ate at Prime Time tonight. We were all cranky from the rain. The waitress sensed that and left us alone. They don't usually force the involvement if they sense you don't want it.

I was into it during the teen years. I loved attempting to get into trouble. I succeeded on multiple occasions, usually with my usual sass and sarcasm.

Oy. I'm sorry about the thumb. Stop tugging on it though silly woman.

The studios for some reason flood badly with big storms, caught there too many times when the streets turn to rivers, more so than other parks during storms. As for Dad, I saw that with my own Dad who is really an intelligent man, I figure he messes stuff up so nobody would 'ask' him to do it. He really wan't that inept.

This would worry me, too. Hopefully it can be fixed.

Yeah it would be an easy fix for B&C. I don't dislike it but I don't find it an over the top place to visit at WDW. It was a quick and OK place to grab a bite years ago vs Studios but now, ADRs for a QS, I'm not likely to go back, plenty of places I genuinely like the food far more. Epcot isn't lacking in wondrous desserts.

So true! I wish I could live there. :hungry:

Questions????

Do you flavor the homemade ones?

Do they taste better homemade than the store bought ones? Mostly my opinion of the couple times I tried them I needed to spat them out. The draw on the commercial ones is lost on me.
So these were different. You take rice flour and mix it with water and a little sugar. You them steam the mixture but I boiled it because I didn't have a steamer. I really think the gal who gave me the recipe meant for me to boil it. All the youtube videos I saw didn't use this recipe.
So I boiled the mixture until it thickened. I then put it in a glass Pyrex dish and chilled for over two hours.
Then you cut strips and dip them in egg with a little sugar and fry.
Mine weren't as good as hers and towards the end I cut up mushroom, jalapeños and added to before I dipped in egg and fried.
My son tried them with syrup but that was way too sweet. He thought they were like pancakes.
I think I need to tweak the recipe which was very vague. I might need to invest in a steamer. But I do want to try putting chives or scallions in the mixture.
I also wasn't able to get the name brand of rice flour she used. That might make a difference.

@figmentfan423 They've updated DAS a bit, so in case you're not up-to-date, I'll give you a quick run down.

The DAS is now integrated with you MB/pass. You still go to guest relations to register, but it is electronic, now. Everyone will need to go with you to Guest Relations to register (or you will have to grab everyone's tickets/MBs), as they add individuals to the DAS. You can add and remove people as needed (for instace, we have friends who live down here and visit us. We can add them when they come and remove them later. You must go to GR to do so). The CM at GR told us that you can add a pretty decent number of people, more than the paper DAS.

When you want to get a ride, someone who is registered on the DAS (not necessarily the person who needs it) can go to the ride they want or to a FP kiosk (you'll need to talk to the CM with the iPad) and they will give you a return time. You can view the return time through MDE, but cannot select rides through the app. When you return to the attraction, the person with the DAS should tap his/her band first. The sensor will flash blue, and the CM will grant access. Then, everyone else may tap their bands and go through.

Any changes to the DAS must be done at GR.

In the event that the system is malfunctioning, they will believe you when you say you have the DAS and will give you a reentry ticket instead.
Thank you!!!!!!!!!!! We don't use it for every ride but it can be a blessing at times. Sounds like it should be fine. How did you make out with it.

Hope y'all keep the Hoppers.
As I've posted before, we've never gone without them. I can't even remember the last time we did only one park on one day... :cyclops:
We think the option is worth it...! :)
We've never hopped as a family before. My older ds does not handle busses well at all. On our first trip as a family he almost had a total meltdown on one so we avoided them like the plague! Last trip the monorail was down and we had to take a bus to the TTC, he was ok not great but ok. Considering how late and crowded it was he did very well. So this summer we spent some time practicing taking the bus. He did well and even had to stand a few times. We'll keep practicing at least once a month from here out. He wants to try hopping for the EMH, so we're going to give it a try. I think for three days he can handle the hopping and if they keep the EMH on the same days we'll only need to take 3 busses. Fingers crossed as we have hoppers.
