I also wonder where exactly did they show the premiere? Does DL have Galaxy stage like WDW does? Was it shown there, or in the EO theatre or where?

Disneyland does these big, splashy movie premieres every year or two. In 2013 they had a Lone Ranger premiere in DCA, in the 2,000 seat Hyperion Theatre. This Tomorrowland Premiere was a relatively minor one, and was shown in the AMC theaters in Downtown Disney, which is conveniently across from the Downtown Disney monorail station with non-stop service to Tomorrowland.

After the movie was premiered at AMC, everyone hopped on monorails for an after-party in Tomorrowland.

Movie is over, on to the after-party in Tomorrowland!

This little Tomorrowland event pales in comparison to the various Pirates premieres that Disneyland has hosted, when they showed the last four Pirates movies on a giant movie screen on Tom Sawyer Island with a 3,000 seat amphitheater built in New Orleans Square and islands and sailing ships staged around the movie screen. Disneyland, after all, is in Southern California. Hollywood!

I've been all over Los Angeles on all my past visits. Haven't been to Knotts since 2009...

Still, there's plenty of other things to do in SoCal aside from Disney.

Knott's Berry Farm's new dark ride, Voyage to the Iron Reef, opens on Friday. It sounds promising. And Knott's Berry Farm hasn't looked better in decades.

Of course, there are also hundreds of other cultural, man-made and natural wonders waiting for you in SoCal. Theme parks are just one small part of this wondrous corner of America.

Wait, so Soarin' opens this weekend and next Friday is the 24 hour event? Whaaaat??

As per its original schedule, no delays, isn't it great! (I would have traded Soarin' for the Matterhorn though).

I think it's a cool coincidence that the 'Tomorrowland' film opens across the US the same day that Disneyland kicks off it's 60th Celebration.

I know what i will be doing on the 22nd.....hand me my IMAX glasses.....

I read somewhere theat the Matterhorn would transform into Mt. Wannalugi I figured it would be all done with projection, this looks very cool.

The 7:30 closing are to accommodate Forever, not PTN. PTN can rehearse in the middle of the night; Forever can't.

Does this mean that there will be no Christmas star like originally rumored? With all these new effects and fireworks launching off of the Matterhorn, not sure if it'd be safe.

There haven't been any pyro effects from the Matterhorn. The only effect is lighting and smoke from the top, so the star can theoretically still go on top.

It's a 60th special. So it'll likely be park history, info about the anniversary (which will clearly still be happening at this point)

They likely want to air in February to remind people there is still a celebration and to come on out.
