So Microsoft is coming out with an update to their Surface tablets in May. Not the Pros, but like what I currently have. The thing is that my tablet 1. Does not support Chrome, only has Internet Explorer, 2. Does not support Kindle textbooks, which I need for school, and 3. Will not be eligible for the Windows 10 update. The new Surface 3 has the full Windows 8.1 system and will be eligible for the Windows 10 upgrade, and therefore runs full desktop programs, so I would be able to get Chrome and the Kindle desktop reader on there, so I'd be able to read my textbooks and would only have to carry it around instead of it plus my 7 inch Android tablet.

Originally, I was thinking no because I've only had my current tablet for two years, and it seems silly to have it just laying around, plus my keyboard won't work on the new ones, so I'd have to get a new keyboard. But then my dad says that if I got a new tablet, he would take my current one because he can use it for work, and he doesn't mind IE, and he would help me pay for a new one (not 100%, but part of it). Plus, since I'm a student, Microsoft offers a decent discount if I buy directly from them.

Now I'm just debating. To spend the money or not to spend the money...
go for it,
I have the surface pro 3.. and I use it for many things.
from drawing, to work.

Its not that powerful but its powerful enough for most stuff.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
That is so true. Some religions Fast vs giving up meat for Friday. When I was small it was every Friday we did not eat meat. After we made our communion we were to Fast from Saturday dinner until after we received communion on Sunday Morning at Mass. They finally threw that out the window because so many people kept passing out or having hypoglycemic episodes.

But to what @Goofyernmost was speaking to about meat and the owners of Chick fil a they are not Catholic. They are Southern Baptists. Some are more prone to fasting in some way over banning meat.
That's funny. I interpreted @Goofyernmost's comment to mean that he didn't think Chik-Fil-A would be open on Good Friday, given their rigid closed on Sunday stance. I didn't think it had anything to do with fasting, or not eating meat on Fridays in general.
Do we have a shoulder shrugging/I dunno smilie?

I only have heard nothing but nightmare of the POP's and AOA's foodcourt.
I honestly did not like the food court at POR either.
Really? We've stayed at POP 5 or 6 times, and never had any issues with the food court - never any problem finding a clean table, and service was generally quite speedy. Obviously food from some bays took longer to prepare than others.
We also toodled over the bridge to AoA's food court, and found it delightful.

"Our Mall was open today and I noticed only one store closed for Good Friday. What really surprised me was that the super Christian (Tee Hee) Chick fil-A was open. That really made me wonder. Closed every Sunday, but open on Good Friday? And if your Catholic your not supposed to even eat meat today. Contrary to popular desire, chicken is still meat."

I guess we are looking at it differently.

I am so very very tempted...probably will decide within the next few days, but so very tempted. Would be such a nice upgrade. Just not sure I want the IE frustration anymore. Also not sure how much better of a discount I would get within the next few months than the student discout (10% off)

I liked Pop's margarita pizza.

Which is all that matters. :joyfull:

Bestie went down to pick up milk and part 2 of dinner. What do you want? Some kind of pizza, I said. She called up and asked if margarita pizza was fine. It was. It was delicious.:hungry:

I may or may not have a slight pizza addiction.:cautious:

How much? And it does sound like he would like your tablet. He doesn't seem to embrace tech change so it might be a win for you both.

My tablet runs chrome and am happy about that.

I think it depends on the time of the year with the food courts and how busy the resort is. I've never had an issue at POR. I have at the FQ and the reason we choose to stay at POR over FQ if we can. FQ is so tiny that during rush times it doesn't work well. It is also very difficult to navigate all those guests with trays when the lines extend into the self service area. POR is at least a big L vs a circular boxy area like FQ. There is never enough seating so people are sitting off in the bar area of FQ. If they are not going to reopen the TS restaurant at FQ and are only using the kitchen area they should consider re-configuring the QS court and utilize the dining room space that is still intact for the TS restaurant.

The only QS food court that I actually like vs tolerate as pretty average offerings is Sunshine Seasons at Epcot/Land. That place has their act together and can efficiently handle the masses of guests per hour.

$450 for 64 GB and $540 for 128 GB. Plus $116 for the keyboard and $44 for the pen.

Not bad at all. It's just a matter of should I spend that money right now. I have the money, and I have a job, plus I might have an additional weekly babysitting job come fall, but I am still not sure.

And yes, he would like my tablet. He outright said today he doesn't like change, so he would probably be happy with it. He wants a tablet, and he originally said he wanted an iPad (which is what my mom has), but then we talked, and he said he really just wanted something for browsing and to do work on. That would be a Surface.

So we'll see. I need a few days to think it over, although I am super tempted. I like my current Surface, but I think I might prefer a newer one. I'm lugging my laptop to school a lot, and I wonder if I wouldn't have to as much with a newer Surface

You're like my DD you research, ponder and ponder some more. My DD picked out my last laptop, my tablet and my iPhone. She knows what I use them for and then reads all the reviews. She put me on the lowest data plan cause she knew I wouldn't use it all and could always upgrade, I roll data every month.
