Yeah, birds are not that bright. I assisted in many necropsies especially swans. Their brains are itsy bitsy.
The estimate of birds flying into glass and buildings is 300 million to a billion a year.

imho, its the reflection. like fishes, they think there is no barrier and what they see is more space.
plus their cone of views put their frontbeak area in their "almost zero vision".

I've never had a basic margarita with a lemon. Only Lime, even in the Mexican resorts I went to used limes. Go figure it is supposed to be lemon. Hmpf.

maybe to soften the flavor for americans? because the normal green lemon from Mexico is very bitter.
just like there are specifically genetically modified jalapeños. designed to have all the flavour with very little "hotness".

in other news.. I have the "festival of the lion king's" version of THE LION SLEEPS TONIGHT stuck in my brain in nonstop loop(the one with timon singing).
You cant imagine how much I love that song (it was one of the last songs I heard before losing my hearing to chemotherapy)

My husband is into watching the Oscars. Luckily a hockey game is on so I don't have to watch them. Although during the period break I let my husband watch the opening of the Oscars and it was interesting, but that is all I care to see.

I rarely see movies, so I haven't a clue who was supposed to be best or whatever. However, I enjoy watching the pre-shows to see all the beautiful fashions.

That's the sad part about yesterday. My landlord has been out there doing that three times in the past 4 weeks! Just couldn't keep up with the ice dams, though. After all his hours of hard work, it just wasn't enough this time. He's a really nice man, and I think I felt worse for him, than for us.

Did you see that creepy pic of Travolta (him again) kissing ScarJo? His forehead (and the rest of his face actually) looks plastic.

Melanie Griffith .... Give it up. You will never recapture the dewy youth of your daughter, but jeepers, you don't have to look like the Joker.

Lady Gaga singing songs from the Sound of Music. She is not just a performer, but a great singer as well.

Yes she is. It's unfortunate that she got grouped into a category with less talented singers. She is very talented and people like Tony Bennett realized this early on.

Sound of Music is just too long for me but one of my all time favorite musical songs is Edelweiss. My DDs chorus sang Edelweiss in many competitions and they nailed it.

The dissecting thing...well it goes back to my post of how many teachers really enjoyed torturing students, that is how you get them to check out of learning.

She wasn't torturing us. She was a very caring teacher who really wanted her students to learn. I was in her Honors class and we were given the same material as her regular class and remedial class, she just altered her approach to the material. That takes a competent teacher.
Just because I got annoyed with how thorough she was does not mean she tortured us.

I don't care for any of the awards shows.

For years now, I haven't seen a single film that had been nominated, let alone won! With no horse in the race, I am even less interested.

I do like to Google Guillermo's red carpet interviews though!

Yea I haven't seen any of the movies that were nominated besides Birdman. I just love award shows because I like to see the whole ceremony of it all. I like the fashion but I also like the speeches because I like to see people passionate about what they do.
