You honestly burned way too much bridges with your lies.
I'm surprised you even dared to appear again.. with a new account and claim nothing bad happened.
I lied only once and that was a lie about me already being in Africa in a joke that was in poor taste. I apologized before and I apologize again. It was wrong and in bad taste. I deeply regret what I had done and I am really sorry about it. If that ain't enough, read the spoiler.

What lies???????

I honestly lied just once and that was that dumb joke that I was frolicking in Africa. For that, I am deeply sorry by its unintended consequences. I was going through a hard time back then and I used the wrong outlet to relieve my frustrations.

I wanted to just "disappear", hence the reason why I was headstrong on joining the Peace Corps. People go through their fits and trials in life. I'm really sorry you all has to bear witness to one of mine.

The thing that made me snap were all the people claiming I had lied about very trivial things, such as my Star Wars posters, my relations and who they know, and very private details about myself or my family that I shared and never should have. So I made that dumb joke (which I thought at the time was funny) to show an (what I thought at the time to be harmless) untruth really is by using humor.

At that moment of time, I had only done early inquiries about joining the Peace Corps. It was still being considered. Only later would I decide that it wasn't for me.

But it was those nagging accusations of me lying that made my blood boil. These things I didn't have to share but I did anyway because I felt good about the company I was sharing these with. After the accusation that I had lied about the Star Wars posters is when I "had it".

EDIT - After that whole drama, I saw a post about me claiming that I had a ten year history of lying and covering it up saying that I was only kidding. The thing is, that is simply not true. I'm not accusing the person who said that of lying but I am saying that person is mistaken. Just search my posts over those ten years and see for yourself.

They're a mixed blessing. A few years ago, I remember watching a news story about a town that put these in, and they weren't far from homes in the area. They filmed from the inside of one person's livingroom and during the daytime hours, this poor woman had (through her picture window) alternating streaks of light, and then long dark shadows for when the 3 blades would move. It was enough to make you dizzy. I think there was also a low noise associated with them as well. All the residents were up in arms over it, and finally, they had most of these removed. (They were also complaining about how their property values were sinking, as a direct result of these things.) I think that companies that make these (and the people who buy them), need to be very careful where they place these behemoths in relation to residential areas.

Yep and agree. These are in the middle of corn.

They never talk about the number of birds killed by those things - including the number of federally protected or threatened or endangered species....

Yeah, birds are not that bright. I assisted in many necropsies especially swans. Their brains are itsy bitsy.
The estimate of birds flying into glass and buildings is 300 million to a billion a year.

I know (my mother is a year and a half older than you, believe me, she explained it). It was kind of like High School Musical was for me, ya know, minus the drugs and the sex.

The plot of Grease bothered me, though. John Travolta's character was kind of a jerk, and then at the end, Sandy abandons all of her moral values to get the guy. What kind of message is that? And then there was, of course, the drugs and the sex.

There were definitely better movies from the 70s.

Star Wars

My DD was in Grease Jr. during school back several years ago. That version cleaned up pretty nicely. I found her poodle skirt I made her for that musical last week. Dang I sew nicely. :D

You forgot the drinking. It was an interesting era. Glad I was little. I was not allowed to watch it as a kid.

Well, quite a few of us in MA feel like we're living on borrowed time these days. (Over 125 roof collapses SO FAR, and yet a 2nd horse barn caved in yesterday, in a different town from the previous one, just a day before that. Thank goodness all the horses were rescued.)

So, a few hours ago, (after shovelling more snow outside), I walked into a back room and the ceiling was leaking all over from some melting snow and ice on the flat roof of that room (we had the first thaw today and that's what people are worried about with all the ice buildup on the roofs). We called the landlord who's going to tear down the ceiling tomorrow, but this afternoon we had to move everything out of the back room, cover a few other things in plastic, etc. Of course, this all had to happen on the one day a year the Daytona 500 is on tv, and I've missed most of it already. :(

Bye for now, peeps.

Oh Boy. Sorry.

My mom loves Sound of Music and I refuse to see Les Miserables since my senior high school teacher ruined the book for me by making us disect, figuratively of course, it for an entire semester. My kids love it though.

Sound of Music is just too long for me but one of my all time favorite musical songs is Edelweiss. My DDs chorus sang Edelweiss in many competitions and they nailed it.

The dissecting thing...well it goes back to my post of how many teachers really enjoyed torturing students, that is how you get them to check out of learning.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I didn't watch a second of the Oscars, but I do like to Google what folks were wearing.
Yowza people - stop with the botox and cosmetic surgery. You don't look good. You don't look natural. You don't look real.

Did you see that creepy pic of Travolta (him again) kissing ScarJo? His forehead (and the rest of his face actually) looks plastic.

Melanie Griffith .... Give it up. You will never recapture the dewy youth of your daughter, but jeepers, you don't have to look like the Joker.

Give me the craggy lines of Clint Eastwood or the late James Garner any day. They are/were real men!

Rant over.
