New Muppet-Vision Preshow Incoming?

The movie was a bad imitation of even the worst of Jim Henson's work (which was still pretty good).
Funny, the movie was directed by Jim Henson and written by Bill Prady (Muppets writer and currently with Big Bang Theory). and Jim Henson also did the voice for Kermit (for the last time). So I guess Jim was imitating himself???
MuppetVision is a clever compilation of the entire "Muppetoire", put together in the typical somewhat haphazard and irreverent Muppet fashion and filled with sly cute and in-your-face humor (literally). It presents each of the varied characters in their normal settings while sticking to the theme of the entire movie. It is the best of the Muppets woven seamlessly together.

I love when the screen gets "sucked up"...and then when Kermit states such.
Love Beeker as he squeaks "why me?".
Love the pre-show.

Just wish Disney would update ALL their 3-D films to Disney Digital 3-D in the parks. It's an insult to Walt's legacy, who always pushed movie technology, to present these works using 70's technology.

I totally agree with everything you said, but I think the poster was talking about the Muppets Movie. I think....

The Epcot Manifesto
I'd use those as examples of why NOT to do CG Muppets. I am sure I am not the only one that misses the...what should I call it...Organic? reality of true physical objects captured by actual light.
To be clear, I meant this as a replacement only for Waldo C. Graphic, and not the honest to goodness Muppets. If anyone tried replacing the Muppets with CGI, I would likely be camped outside the theater in protest on some sort of hunger-strike (or the opposite, eating myself to death on churros, you know, in protest, seems a more plesant way to go). I just think Waldo (and the clothing on the people in the last scene) are the only 2 things that feel "dated" in any way for me. CGI has improved so much I feel he would likely benefit from an update.
I'll be honest though, I didnt realize until reading just now that Waldo was actually controlled via a puppet system, even though he was CGI. That's pretty awesome.

I thought Waldo was supposed to look obviously computer generated?

The only thing I would change in the entire attraction, aside from upgrade, would be the final scene with Kermit on the fire truck and everyone in 1991 attire. That is the only thing that dates the attraction, IMO.
Also, if you look at that end scene, Sweetums is physically in the theater and in the movie in that end crowd scene. I noticed that last time, and couldn't believe I hadn't seen that before. But I agree, that's what dates the show for me too. Waldo is irritating now, but I remember loving him when I was a kid. Sort of a Jar Jar Binks effect.

They have a lot of stuff like that in there. I know at one point some of the toy soldiers aren't wearing pants. I also love how they sneak the Small World song in there, while the muskets are being shot off.

I love the loving Small World jab. Also Sam Eagle describing the finale: "It's called A Tribute To All Nations, But Mostly America" and then "It's a glorious 3-hour finale!" The writing here is so strong, it'd be a shame to lose these good bits.

Yes they could do that, or they can keep it the way it is. It's like Peter Pan is dated, Small World is dated, Pirates is dated ..... Should they get rid of them? No, because they are considered classics

AND they're Disney-created/adapted classics. The Muppets are an unnecessary purchase, nothing more. The Muppet theater in Disneyland is very often being used for things other than the Muppets; what does that tell you?

I'd be happy if they ripped the whole Muppet exhibit out, and perhaps put a Mary Poppins or Fantasia attraction in its place.

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
I can think of so many things they could add to the pre-show! I wouldn't mind seeing a brand new Muppet show as well... But I guess it's sort of a big thing to have Jim Henson's last work at a Disney park.

I love the pre-show, yes the sponsor logo needs to go though. The show itself does need to be updated in some ways since it is aging in terms of technology for stuff like Waldo. The biggest shame for me with the Muper-vision 3d is the fact Jim Hanson died at time that there was plans of added stuff that was Muppet related for turning it into a Muppet land.

The newest muppets movie pulled in $154m at the box office. I would expect most things muppets to swing towards the new take on the muppets. Jim Henson's muppets won my heart at a young age. But I feel a change was needed for my favorite puppets to burst into the 21st.
