I just want to be 100% clear.

If tonight Bob and John went to the Board and said they could no longer work together, then one would be leaving the company immediately (for some made up reason).

That one wouldn't be the creative mastermind that has brought billions upon billions of dollars in pure profit into the company since 1995 and has a passion for it. The one leaving would be the suit that can easily be replaced by so many others.

Bob may be CEO, but John holds all the cards here. Oh, and they both know that.

That would be fine by me and would at least show that the Board of Directors have their priorities in order. Guys with the qualities that Lasseter possesses are at a premium and IMO Lasseter is the best of the bunch so I would agree that its paramount to the company's fortunes to retain him.

I wonder how many refurbishments can be funded if they took Social Media's budget. At least then they'll actually be rebuilding their BRAND.

For all the hate on social media here.. it's funny people don't step back.

WDW1974.. don't you say so much of your objective is simply to get the message OUT there (hrmm.. kind of like a blog does..)
And don't so many people dismiss you and others petitioning against the company's choices as simply a noisy minority that doesn't represent the norm?

If you flood the market.. you drown those voices into being what looks like an extreme minority position.

When people read product reviews.. is one negative review enough to make you turn away? Or do you sample across the spectrum and see what everyone is saying and take note of how many are on each side? Again, flooding with positive, will tend to bury the negative.. either out of sight, or minimize it.

And as anyone in actual business knows.. the message and beating that drum in a repetitive pattern is how you get the message to stick. Doesn't matter if it's liked or not.. the repetition gets it known. And by seeding the social army with the message.. you are amplifying the frequency and reach of the message.

It amazes me how people are so willing to accept advertising on the merit of 'impressions' - yet are completely dismissive of the value of hitting customers in a social media platform where people have OPTED IN to see and hear your message.

He has said on a few occasions that Innoventions at DL is on the way out.

I think there were some trial balloons about closing the subs. Possibly the speedway too, not sure on that one.

Personally I would love to see both of these attractions sent to Yesterland (or Shanghai) so that Imagineering could bring SoCal some state of the art magic. One can dream.

However they have left T-Land almost untouched since the Space Mountain refurb. There have been rumors of a T-Land overhaul at DL for awhile. But also from time to time you hear rumors of the same for WDW. I have even heard they could be related. Possibly with a clone or two.

In any case, I think the fact they have left T-Land at WDW untouched means they are saving it for last. I am very optimistic about the predictions I made a few years ago about WDW getting some serious investment in new attractions after DCA 2.0 was finished are getting closer and closer to reality.

They refurbished BTMRR and the reviews have been stellar. They might have been able to replace the track but it appears they just can't afford the down time at this time. The MK is just too popular and needed the capacity this summer IMO.

MSUSA has been completely restored and again the reviews are off the charts.

The castle has been completely refurbished and looks like 1971 but even better.

CBJ will soon be refurbed/reimagined.

Pirates has been refurbed and will soon have interactive elements in the queue. I predict people will love them.

The Jungle Cruise is rumored to be next. Likely after the FLE opens completely so as not to create too much of an impact on guests.

Oh yeah, the TIKI ROOM has been brought back to as close to as original as possible. Reviews have been excellent.

The shooting gallery and Diamond Horeshoe have been completely refurbished with new signage also. Reviews were excellent.

Splash was refurbed and got great reviews when it reopened.

The SFR Treehouse was refurbed and looks new.

PH was opened in a temporary spot and is still very popular.

So, all of these initiatives began around 2007 under Iger's leadership. This is clearly a plan designed to restore the MK with as little impact as possible on operations and the guest experience.

So that leaves T-Land.

Funny but I have not heard anything doomtastic about Splash lately. Perhaps they finally decided to deal with the source of the problem.

Considering WDI's track record at the MK since the Haunted Mansion refurb perhaps it would be wise to take a "wait and see" attitude towards the CBJ changes. I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt because WDI only seems to hit home runs lately.
