Hi everyone! We're now 133 days away from our East Coast Road Trip that takes us to our Disneymoon: a 3-night Bahamian Cruise aboard the Disney Dream, followed by 5 nights at the Boardwalk Villas!
My fiance Gina (GeeBee721) and I have been lurkers and occasionally we'll put our two cents in on a thread, but after 2 trips to WDW together, we decided it was high time we made a trip report for our big trip!
Some quick history: Gina and I took our first trip to Disney together in September of 2009.
We, along with her parents, stayed at the Wilderness Lodge, which was a real treat for me. Before that, the only time I had stayed on property was as a kid at All-Star Music, which was great, but I must say, doesn't hold a candle to WL!
We got engaged in July of 2010, and while I would've like to have proposed in Disney, I knew it would be a bigger surprise if I didn't. So when we went back in December of 2010 for 10 days at Saratoga Springs, we really had something to celebrate!
Then came time to plan the honeymoon. While we would've loved to get married down at the world, we knew not everyone would be able to make the trip, and Gina being the only daughter in a big Italian family, couldn't avoid having My Big Fat Italian Wedding!
As much as we're Disney freaks, we almost didn't plan on having a Disneymoon. We had thought about Europe, or someplace tropical and all-inclusive. But, as many of you have probably experienced, it all kept coming back to Disney. Maybe a cruise to really make the trip memorable? Another thing we decided was that we really wanted to drive down. Gina's not a big fan of flying, and this gives us a chance to really stretch the trip out and make it special!
So here's what we're looking at for an itinerary.
Nov 5- Wedding!
Nov 6- Rest!
Nov 7- Drive from MA down to NC to visit family
Nov 8- Sightseeing around NC
Nov 9- Drive! Sleep?
Nov 10- Arrive at Port Canaveral; Embark on 3 night Bahamian Cruise aboard the Disney Dream (My very first cruise!)
Nov 13- Return to port; drive to WDW! Check in at Boardwalk for a 5 night stay!
Nov 15- MVMCP!!
Nov 18- Over already!?!
Start our voyage back home, new adventures along the way!
Nov 20- Back to reality, but an awesome new one: as husband and wife!
This is what we have so far for dining reservations (subject to change 50 times before November!)
Nov 14- Dinner at California Grill
Nov 15- Lunch at San Angel Inn
Nov 16- Breakfast at Kouzzina by Cat Cora
Dinner at 'Ohana
Nov 17- Dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern
Nov 18- Breakfast at Kona Cafe
That's all I've got for now. Since this is my first trip report, I'd love some feedback, comments and suggestions to make it more readable and entertaining. Stay tuned for more!
