We are leaving Saturday and I was wondering.....are umbrellas allowed inside the parks? We have ponchos but were wondering about umbrellas. Hopefully these storms will stay away and it won't matter.
Yes, you can take umbrella's inside the parks. Just last week we saw lots of folks with them. When its rains they have them out to sell if you dont have them with you when the rain starts. Have a great trip!!!
Okay. I have a couple of questions for you about the umbrellas. How much are they? And, do they have a Mickey on them or the stupid generalized "Disney Parks" logo that Meg Crofton stuck us with?![]()
My hubby bought a golf umbrella from Team Mickey in 2009 and that thing is awesome! If you don't like the standard umbrellas you could always swing over to DtD for a golf one!
Golf umbrella? How is it different?
I can answer! Golf umbrellas are larger, and the new ones have a special wind vent so it won't be turned inside out with a large gust, along with a lightning resistant shaft and spokes, rather than metal.
But, most of them are a bit too large to carry around all day. If you must bring an umbrella, you might want to search for a compact, folding one that has the same features. A regular one would be fine for a rainy day, but will not be safe (or keep you dry) during a thunderstorm with winds and lightning.
mickeysshoes and I were answering at the same time - good thing we agree.![]()
Golf unbrellas are much larger and will keep you dryer. They are aslo long, more like the size of a cane when closed. This would be my choice if you dont mind carrying it. The ones in the gift shop were black and about 12" long and will assume that the handle pulls out.
Thanks. I'd actually rather have a collapsible one for the portability. You never know when the rain might show up in Florida. Especially around hurricane season.
We got hit with rain twice on our last trip but it lasted no longer than 10 minutes each time. Once was on our first day in WDW. We were at DTD and coming out of the Lego store it started coming down. We just stood under the soffit and waited it out. The same thing happened on our EPCOT day. We got stuck for about 10 minutes standing under the walkway outside of a shop in Germany.
