Wearing Vibram 5 fingers at the world

Hi all, I did a search and didn't find any discussions here about them. Some may not have heard about them before. you can check them out by googling vibram five fingers, not sure if I can post websites or not.

Anyways I got my first pair about a month ago and love them, from everyday use to working out in. I plan on wearing them when we go in Oct.

Just wondering if anyone else has worn them there, I have the KSO's and the Bikila's.

I have heard of them. Hubby used to work with a guy who wore them to work. At first I was sorta taken aback by them but I get the concept of minimalist footwear. I've not heard of anyone wearing them into the parks. I hope someone pipes up on here. I'm interested.

well if no one does I will in early Nov. when I return as I only plan on bringing my 2 pairs, I will review.:D

I was surprises on how comfortable they really are, a bit to get use to, but once you do its hard to go back to real shoes.

When hubby first told me about them I had to look them up. First impression was a great big ---->...then ----> :lookaroun....then ---->. But then I thought about how horrid I thought Crocs were. I'd read all the Crocs people singing their praises on the Disney boards and thought those people were nuts. Then in early December '07 I was in the MK in my leather Doc Martins for our family portraits. In the span of 2 hours I had busted blisters that were so painful I took the shoes off and carried them when we made it back to the Emporium. I spotted the Mickey Crocs on our way thru, thought of what I had been reading, and out of desperation bought a pair. Major moment of enlightenment. Vibram 5-fingers may look a bit out there but I'll never question an odd-looking shoe again. LOL!

Make sure to post how they did. I'm really interested!

I have them and love them. My wife really limits me on where I can wear them bc she says I look like an ape. On really hot days you can feel the hot concrete but thats rare. Other than that I swear by them and they are even better on water rides bc they dry rather quickly.

Btw they are a great conversation piece, people always love to ask about them:ROFLOL:

I like the concept of minimalist footwear. It's like back to letting your body do it's thing. I never in a million years would've dreamed I'd be so comfy in flip-flops walking the parks. It really makes me curious how these would work. The only thing that keeps me from buying a pair is the price. I don't want to put that money out there then hate them. Wish I could try them on somehow.

You couldn't keep shoes on me when I was a kid. I still tend to walk around barefoot a lot. So these shoes intrigue me. I've heard of them before but I never thought about walking around WDW in them. I'd be curious how it goes as well.

I'm the exact same way! Hate shoes! If they feel like barefoot then I'm in. It'll save the pedicures for me! :D

Not old, just vintage.
I despise wearing shoes. I've seen the Vibram ones before and I am very intrigued by them. I'm not sure they would work for me though because I have suuuper short toes. Toe socks are a no-go for me because of my freakishly short toes.

Yeah I love mine, if you have a retailer that carries them close to you, I would definitley go try some on if your interested. The Vibram website lists all authorized dealers. Be careful though there are alot of fakes out there especially on ebay. If the price sounds to good to be true, they are probably fakes.

As far as the short toes go, I dont think it would be a problem, longer toes would be an issue but I dont think shorter ones would be.

Well I am 102 days out and plan on switching between my two pairs the entire 2 weeks I am there.

My husband went to school for Exercise Physiology and Kinesiology and he's really interested in posture, skeletal alignment, etc....so he was all over these shoes when they came out. There are a ton of people that exercise in them at the gym where he works. Neither of us have heard any complaints about them so far, and I've even heard of people running marathons in them, so I wouldn't imagine you'd have any problems walking around WDW in them.

I have friends who wear them for distance running. They advise taking some time to adjust to them before doing any serious running in them. I would imagine they'd be good for a day at WDW, but I love shoes too much to go this route. I have a hard enough time being in sneakers every day, let alone wearing these. DH is thrilled that I have no reason (at least not one yet) to justify bringing more than my joggers, some Uggs, and flip flops.

We saw a guy wearing them at blizzard beach last year and he said that he loved them. I don't see a problem wearing them in the parks. Let me know how it goes!

I don't think the price will drop much. I have had my eye on em for a few years now, and they haven't budged. They have gone from 1 style to about 8, but no price change. I think I'm finally gonna pull the trigger on em soon though.

I certainly would be interested in using them around my house and neighborhood especially when my wife and I go for walks. The drawback is the price for me. For me i dont think i want to spend that much just in case i don't like them.
